WE ARE TRUE TO THIS! ❤️‍🔥

One week on:

Carnival has always had a special place in my heart. From as far back as I can remember, my mum would bring me to NHC, where we would stand on what’s now known as Trini Hill and watch all the pretty bands go by. 🥹

At the age of 14, I begged my mum to let me do T-shirt day (Kids’ Day). She finally let me go, and whilst crawling up the stairs of my cousin’s house @kass_mx because our bodies ACHED from being on the road all day, I vowed I would NEVER walk the streets of NHC as a spectator again! 😂

Fast-forward 23 years and I’m still here, going strong! 💃🏾

Soca & Carnival have allowed me to meet the most amazing people on the road.. my Carnival family, who I look forward to seeing every single year. ❤️

Even though some people think Carnival is just about Caribbean people putting on minimal clothes and getting wasted, Carnival to me is unity, expression, culture & Soca music. It’s one time of the year where black and Caribbean cultures come together, take up space, celebrate who we are and give a 🖕🏾 to the systems that historically oppressed us.

The negative Carnival propaganda has tainted what the true meaning of Carnival is for so many people, but I believe the real revellers will continue to carry the Carnival torch and allow Notting Hill Carnival to grow bigger and better for generations to come.

So here’s to 60 years of NHC and many, MANY more to come! ✌🏾🥂

First time ever and I came prepared… 4 litres of homemade rum punch went down an absolute treat! 🍹😂

But the best part was bumping into so many good people along the way. Proper good vibes, laughs and familiar faces everywhere I turned ❤️

1 of 1 Bespoke Air Yeezy 1 Handcrafted using Croc embossed Italian leather, genuine nubuck leather, Zebra print pony hair and a pair of YZY 350's.

I wanted to show the SPLY 350 text but the straps covered them so I created a removable strap that attaches using magnets and a button.

The Zebra 350's were dope but because of the way they were designed they hurt the top of my foot. I reconstructed my pair into an Air Yeezy 1 removing that problem area. Now I can actually enjoy wearing them.
