Traveling the World with Slavas Snow Show

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Nostalgia time. Burning Man 2012 was one of my favorite 🥰 (there is more to come as I keep finding old cameras and reminiscing) but you never forget your first. Made friends who turned into family. Did, climbed and drank/ate a lot of questionable things. Left my phone in my tent for 10 days. Stayed for breakdown (incredible experience). Loved getting caught in white outs and the culture of side quests. No watches. No planning, just “my camp is x and if you happen to see it we’ll meet again”. Absolutely zero reception. Disposable cameras. Not every moment needing to be captured. Actually living life in real time. No performers or planned DJ sets. If you happened to run into one the excitement was fucking insane. Manifesting became tangible out there. Hungry? Walk by a camp and they offer you a grilled cheese. Feel like you want a fohawk? The girl next to me was a hairdresser and the guy behind the bar happened to have clippers and a tablecloth. Get ghosted by your ride from Reno? Hitch a ride with an amazing old college professor and pilot who explained the ways of the burn on our ride in. Stay with a completely different camp than planned and get called a fairy who seemed like she’d been a lifetime burner. Get your first Playa name “Tiger Moon” 🌙 Make dust angels 😍 Cry your eyes out at all the offerings in the temple (remembering your loved ones gone from this world) Actually live by the 10 principles. Run into friends from the default world. Learn lessons that teach you how resilient you are. Hug complete strangers all day long; real hugs. Get lost in open playa. Hop on art cars as they pass you by. Decompress before returning to the default world. #safetythird #burningman #manifest #10principles #magic

Attention, le rire est contagieux. 😄

Quelques minutes devant La Cabine,
un portrait qui apparaît…
et puis ça. 💛

25 July 2026 - My 3rd time watching Slava’s Snowshow.

Slava’s Snow first performed in Singapore in 2001, and me being a poor student back then, I missed it. But I caught it when it revisited in 2012 and 2022.

Slava Polunin was part of Cirque du Soleil’s Alegria as the original cast, creator of the clown act / Snowstorm act. Watching Slava’s Snowshow is the closest I could get to the original Alegria clowns I guess!

(Note that the program was purchased 14 years ago and it’s not available for sales now, don’t go running around looking for it ya.)

@slavasnowshowofficial created the snow scene in the original Alegria and I didn't know this up until the day before the show so I wasn't expecting to see almost the same scenes I saw from the original Alegria 🥹 it was the closest I got to seeing the original Alegria even tho it wasn't but Slava's Snowshow as it's own was so much more fun than I expected I loved the crowd work and I even got a hug 😭 I love clowns so much and thank you @cheong_rt for joining me last minute and then coming with my to my dorm to watch the Alegria DVD 🫶🏻
