Allowing LGBTQ families like these to be seen means that, hopefully, they won't be ignored when we get to the ballot box in November.

Allowing LGBTQ voices like mine to be heard means that our community's calls to action and cries for support won't fall on deaf ears.

Allowing everyday expressions of LGBTQ joy and sadness to be felt and shared by others means that whatever jaded views we have about politics won't desensitize us to our collective humanity.

This isn't really about what nine Supreme Court justices might do someday in the future. We can't control that. This is really about us. About what we will do now - to affirm and recognize one another as people. And that, we can control.

***

Thanks to @myvpm & @styleweekly for supporting the vision behind this months-long writing project of mine and helping to manifest it, on both page and screen. (Especially @macaulayhammond, @cbbaldwin23, @maryscottfletch & @19red.fuel. 📸: @scottelmquist.)

I don't ask this often of my followers. But if you have a platform - any platform - please use it to share the "Chosen Families" story and video (links in bio) with your social circles.

And of course, vote YES to Question 2 on November 3rd election day (or sooner)! @vaformarriage @equalityva

Miami Beach. Atlanta. DC. That’s where most people stop. The Southern US has so many Prides 🇺🇸🏳️‍🌈

From West Key to Memphis, Little Rock to Louisville, the South’s Pride calendar runs nearly all year. In a region where queer rights are being fought over in real time, these Prides matter more than ever.

30 Prides across 16 states and DC, and I know I’ve missed some. Which one belongs on the list? 👇

Finally have the time to post about this…

Getting to perform on the MainStage at Pride this year as Mr. Virginia Pride was so surreal. I feel honored to hold this title. To give representation. To be trans is to be seen. To be trans is to be alive. To be trans is to be ME. 🫶🏻

Love is love is love, never forget that.

September Dump🌼💛
This month has given me serious emotional whiplash😂
I took my first ballet course 🩰, went out partner dancing 1-2 times every week 💃🏻💃🏻, went to a baseball game for the first time in 3 years⚾️, pride 🏳️‍🌈, my dear friend’s 70th birthday celebration🎉, made an entire new friend group 👯🏻‍♀️ and somehow much much more.
I’m feeling very grateful and iron deficient💊😂💛

I asked folx to either wear or hold my art like it was a caught fish they were really proud of. Thank you to my models for entertaining my antics. The results are everything I wanted and more 😂🥰 #swipe to see for yourself
