This piece took me on a journey

It just might be one of the most difficult pieces I've ever written

Almost 700 million women married today were married off as children
12 million girls are married before their 18th birthday every year
Nigeria is ranked 3rd in the world with the highest number of child marriages

The inspiring story of @firstladyfatimabio is further proof of the potentials every girl child has within them when given the freedom to be, to grow fully, to shine brightly amongst the Stars
