𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐰!

It was a pleasure to participate in The UWI St. Augustine Faculty of Law Awards Ceremony on 17th October 2026, where, in my capacity as a Lecturer in Environmental Law, I had the honour of presenting awards and celebrating the outstanding achievements of our future legal professionals.

A special congratulations to 𝐌𝐫. 𝐕𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞, recipient of the 𝐃𝐫. 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐰 (𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔).

Varian also recently graduated with 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 and earned a place on the 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭 for the 2025/2026 academic year.

It was particularly rewarding to celebrate his success, having previously welcomed him to Tobago through the Division of Legal Affairs’ World Environment Day and 250th Anniversary of the Main Ridge Forest Reserve initiative.

Well done, Varian! Keep raising the bar!

On Wednesday 4th March 2026, the UWI Law Society, in collaboration with UWISips, had the pleasure of participating in a meaningful discussion on "Building Resilient Economies through Economic Diversification."

The event brought together an inspiring group of student organisations - the Economics Society, Management Society, Finance and Investment Society, Student Psychology Association, Agribusiness Society and The Mind Mag,, all contributing to an engaging and forward-thinking dialogue.

We are especially proud of our presenters, Shinik-Ann Duprey and Varian Narine who represented the Law Society with insight and dedication, supported by fellow students of the Faculty of Law.

In honor of International Women’s Day and every day after, we would like to support our sisters in need at St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital. 💗 Please consider donating, nothing is too small.
This is not the first time we’ve heard that many of the women at St. Ann’s are forgotten and left to fend for themselves. We are incredibly grateful for the nurses who care for them every day, but they can only do so much!

After reading the post shared by Van Putten on behalf of @kelly_van_putten, the COC felt more determined than ever to step in and help the women of St. Ann’s.
Together, we can make a difference. 💕
