One of my favourite parts of designing weddings is finding ways to let an idea travel beyond the moodboard.

For Kamakshi’s wedding stationery, I drew heavily from Jaipur block prints, so it felt natural to carry those motifs into her mehendi too. We decided to transform the terrace wall into a mural. We drew the artwork and painted it section by section over a few weeks leading up to the wedding celebrations.

Those evenings became their own little ritual. Kamakshi, Varsha, Harshita and I would paint after work, drink endless cups of Dipti Aunty’s kahwa, debate the smallest little changes and then look up to realise it was well past midnight.

The mural became a permanent reminder of the wedding, but those evenings became a part of us. I don’t think I’ll ever look at this wall without thinking of them.

When I told @varshannaik @hershee94 and @smritideora my crazy idea of painting a wall mural on my terrace they immediately said YES!

So lucky to have friends who are down for anything, super creative and more ambitious than I am 😆🩷

Having your besties over everyday, chatting, laughing and planning - that’s what really brings all the shaadi ka ghar feels. Even though it took long hours, we have no regrets and honestly had such a great time doing this

No one talks about how little time you actually get with friends during the wedding event days. Doing this not so little project together was such a great way to get in some quality time with my girls before the big day

And tbh the painting felt therapeutic 🧘🏽‍♀️

2025 was a year full of love and I couldn’t have asked for a better start to the wedding celebrations. My best gals hosted the most wholesome bridal (+groomal) shower, full of throwbacks, inside jokes and so so many laughs 💜

I completed my Divemaster certification in reverse ⏮️

A dream, no matter big or small, when realised, must end in giving thanks 🤲🏾 Yet, who I owe gratitude to is only revealed as hands of time pass me by, immersed in this weird, rewarding profession

The quiet hiss of the compressor starting up in wee hours of morning. The scratch of pens that record all equipment shared and exchanged via a dive shop, meticulously. The swift quarter turn of your tank before you leap off the boat ⛴️

To not only chase your dream but chase it right requires unwavering faith, ingrained in all people who care. Papa, Mongya, and Vara worry for me when the time is right, and wing it with me when the time is necessary. To say I owe them my life, is to say less than they deserve❤️

💫 To my second father, not on Instagram:

•Who introduced me to water as a life-force, meant to be enjoyed

•Who saved a drowning man on marine drive in the 1970s, teaching me that a path tied to the ocean can never disentangle itself from hands that help

To master an art requires a gifted soul without an ego, willing to teach it. I bless my stars to have found that in Azeem, everyday. My family of teachers continues to grow with Maria— a current of vibrance and sass, achieving with two hands and legs, the workload of 10 💪

OUR SWEETEST LITTLE GIRL YARA HAS BEEN ADOPTED 🏠🩷
Honestly, we’ve been absolutely speechless for the last 2 days and no one’s been able to comprehend what’s happened

Yara was found lying listless, with her anus swollen, disfigured and bleeding on 21 January 2024.
Vets had confirmed that a blunt object had definitely penetrated her anus, probably an organ and vets lead us to believe that she is a victim of sexual assault.

@nihudives and @varshannaik reached out to me 6 months ago while I was fostering Yara and told me that they’d love to foster her and could commit for 6 months.
This was great because
1. It gave us more time to look for a home for Yara
2. I could foster more dogs
3. Yara could get used to a home setting which would help her adjust to her forever home

A week ago, their 6 month time commitment ended and 2 days ago, they sent us a message saying Yara wasn’t going anywhere and she was now a permanent part of their family.

@nihudives and @varshannaik you two are the best. I don’t know how to describe these two women except that they’re the loveliest , sweetest people ever. Yara has the best family.

To everyone involved in Yara’s rescue and rehabilitation, I’m so proud of us!

And lastly, I want to thank little Yaru, for going through so much and still keeping her heart open to everyone. Yara has showed us that she’s not a sexual assault victim, she’s a sexual assault survivor and she’s the bravest little puppy I’ve ever met.
