FRI, OCT 16! I’m spinning a dance party at TV EYE after K-HOLES, CRUSH, and GENRE IS DEATH! I go on late! Come out! This is an @oj_s pic of me behind the decks at my SANTOS’ PARTY HOUSE weekly from 2008 around the time K-HOLES began. Forgive me if I get sentimental here but… Before I switched to all original 45s and suits, quit booking bands, and started only DJing, and before K-HOLES started becoming a touring and recording machine, at least a quarter of my 300+ annual parties featured live music and other elements, and, since they were my good friends (and Vashti and Cam were also my party collaborators since 2006) and were great from out of the gate, they played a good chunk of my events in their first couple years of existence and were a huge part of my life! We grew together and shared so many nights and experiences! When we both got busy entering our next phases, I still got to see them regularly at festivals and other stuff in London, Canada, New Orleans, etc (and occasional NYC special occasions). So between them, and CRUSH (Zumi was my mid-2000s roommate and Cole a friend since then), and GENRE IS DEATH (my new buds), this is gonna be an epic reunion and family affair! I also guarantee everybody will kick ass as always! I did a lil search on my computer and found these funny old relics that I figured you’d get a kick out of from early K-HOLES shows at NYNT parties etc (mostly from around 2008-2010). Come out witness us write the next chapter FRIDAY after a decade+ break! I hope you’re as stoked as I am!

K-HOLES reunite for their first show in over a decade on OCT 16 at a NY Night Train event with CRUSH, GENRE IS DEATH, and DJ JONATHAN TOUBIN at TV EYE!

One of the rawest and most compelling New York bands of the late-2000s to early-2010s, K-Holes churned out a handful of classic recordings (on Sub Pop’s Hardly Art imprint and Chicago’s iconic Hozac Records) and burnt up the road for a few years before imploding with such force that they all scattered across the country to become members of aggregations such as SEXTILE, THE BLACK LIPS, and WARM DRAG. Tonight they converge upon their former hometown for a one-off gig. This is the world’s only chance to catch this killer band before they blow back to their respective states.

Self-described “greasy leather lovebirds,” CRUSH, the gritty, eclectic, and infinitely cool Black Lips side-project of singer/guitarist COLE ALEXANDER & sax maniac ZUMI ROSSOW, play a rare NYC show - also their first in years.

These uncommon appearances will be bookended by two NYC institutions, @intheredrecords No Wave noisemakers GENRE IS DEATH and NYC DJ legend JONATHAN TOUBIN!
