You can’t build a revolution with no education.. - Fred Hampton Sr.

Each one ☝🏽 Teach one ☝🏽

I just wanna say thank you brother @vasmotive for believing in me and giving me a outlet to speak with the youth to help guide them through their journey in life, this is just the beginning of the new chapter in my life and I just wanna thank everyone who’s believing in me and pushing me towards excellence.

Money skills start early.

The Forigin Initiative is proud to work with BMEA ( @thebmeaschool )for financial literacy enrichment this school year. In this clip, students are tackling real questions about credit, assets, and liabilities, building the foundation they’ll need to make smart financial decisions for life.

We believe financial education should be engaging, so we keep it interactive and fun while making sure the lessons stick. When young people understand how money works, they’re better prepared to build wealth and opportunity for themselves and their communities.

Big thanks to BMEA for being great partners. We’re just getting started.

Detroit sits on some of the highest rates of diet-related illness in the country. 69% of Detroit households experience food insecurity. 32% of us live a mile or more from a full-service grocery store. And nationally, food insecurity hits up to 2 out of 3 Black residents in some counties, compared to 1 out of 3 white residents.

Those lines were drawn a long time ago. Redlining played a part in which blocks got investment, and 80 years later you can still see it in what’s on the shelf.

Here’s what most people don’t connect. Food isn’t only fuel. Neurotransmitters, gut hormones, and the gut microbiome are directly shaped by what you eat. Nutrient-dense diets track with lower rates of depression and anxiety, while diets heavy in refined sugar and saturated fat predict greater psychological distress. Meals loaded with refined sugar and poor fats can reduce cognitive flexibility and raise impulsivity soon after eating.

Steadier mood means steadier thinking. Steadier thinking means better decisions, including the money ones. You cannot build generational wealth on a body running on empty.

That’s why we started The Coalition. Not another program telling people what to eat. A living example, on real ground, that youth and adults can walk into and see working.

🌱 15720 Alden St. Come see it.
