A little compilation of the belly dance magic I got to witness tonight...our beautiful Indian community, along with our wonderful guest artists from Argentina and Ukraine. 🤍

Over the years, I’ve experienced festivals as a performer, anchor, backstage artist, facilitator, learner, and everything in between. I still remember attending my first festival purely as an audience member, sometime around 2017–18.

Cut to 2026 ! This time, I wasn't a part of it like the other times and honestly didn't know how that would feel.

But how could a belly dancer in the city not take out a couple of hours to witness her community shine?

And I had the BEST time😍. 😂 I couldn’t sit still for even a minute my body was dancing along with every performance.

Yet, somewhere deep down, I was so grateful that this time I could simply WATCH.

To witness the effort, journeys, nerves, joy and magic that every dancer brought to the stage reminded me of why I fell in love with this art in the first place.

Most of us started by watching, admiring and getting inspired.

Tonight, I got to do that all over again.

A beautiful reminder of the magic that called me home and continues to make me the belly dancer I am today. ✨

Training season is on!

@sakshi_tajane and @vasudha._21 learnt this beautiful choreography by @oscarfloresofficial back in December last year, and the ladies have since worked on choreographing the rest of the song to turn it into a complete performance of their own.

It’s been so lovely to see how training, practice and all the work that goes into being part of a troupe slowly show up in the way they move, create and take the choreography forward with their own ideas.

So here’s a little glimpse of the PDA Troupe ladies doing just that…learning, creating and growing together. 🤍

Tarab is that state of musical ecstasy , when you don’t just hear the music, but truly feel it, surrender to it, and let it move through you.

For @vasudha._21 ,

“Dancing Tarab has been the best kind of feeling. To understand the essence of the music and let myself move with it, until the dance almost feels like it’s dancing for me.

And when I am able to channelise it right, I feel like I’m not just dancing for someone/stage, I’m taking them into my inner world, even if just for a moment.”

She created this piece under the mentorship and guidance of our very own @payalguptabellydancer
