Happy 40th to 1018!
Today is October 18th, (10-18) so I want to pay homage to the incredible and unforgettable 1018 that opened on this day in 1986!

I held the incredible position of doorperson 3 nights a week for 2 years or so along with Stanley Burke (RIP) and Paul starting in 1986. I worked with the absolute best security guys ever! (Mike Keddy, Sal Tommasino @all_season_protection , @mqblw , Mike Hennessy, Tom N Concett Bradley and so many more. They were truly my protectors as it was the wild west on 18th Street and 10th Avenue in the 80s and my God, do I miss THAT New York.

The powerhouse team of promoter Vito Bruno and DJ @djroman_ricardo , along with @vazquez.derek on lights set the tone. Roman played 3 nights a week open to close. It was called a RESIDENCY! There are so many others to mention: Gene DeNino, the owner with the vision, his nephew and GM, Chris Stockwell, MC @richie_rich_robles .. the listing goes on.

The music of the era was incredible and everyone came to dance! I met life long friends… in fact I just spoke to Sal a few weeks ago. Times and memories I will always cherish!

Happy 1018 day to all who know!🎉

This is what it looks like when you own a club in Miami and the Sound System is designed by the owners of Twilo in NYC, The Sound Factory (New York City), Roxy (New York City), Vinyl / Arc (New York City), and are the same people who also designed The Guvernment (Toronto), Cream (Liverpool/Ibiza), Crobar (New York/Miami), and Womb (Tokyo) and your light system is designed by Derek Vazquez..........Your club becomes legendary from the day it opens and EVERY DJ worldwide wants to play there - THANK YOU! to everyone that was a part of it – Maybe it’s time for a repeat !!!........... Shoutout to the icons who made history: # #RomanRicardo #Phazon #DjmichaelStorms #DerekVazquez #NerveMiami, Steve Dash, Phill Smith, Tony Humphries, Frankie Knuckles, John Digweed, DJ Michael Storms, Sasha, Roman Ricardo, Digweed, Doc Martin, Roger Sanchez, Miguel Migs, Derek Vazquez, Rudolf Pipper, and Larry Levan. Representing the golden era of nightlife and pure analog sound: Turntables, Rotary Mixer, Technics, Crobar Miami, Twilo, Soundfactory, Danceteria, Phazon, Custom Lights, Richard Long, and Paradise Garage.

@galindousa knocked it out of the park for the BMW NYFW Show! It was an outstanding collection!

Unfortunately the production team was ill prepared and it's unfortunate because BMW deserves better production.
