🇺🇸: On April 3rd, our NEW VIDEO will be released, filmed in Sweden, between the laboratories of the @karolinskainstitutet in Stockholm and the rugged wilderness of Abisko National Park.

Is it possible to adapt the human body to deal with environmental stresses in order to survive? And is the answer already hidden in our genes?

🇺🇸In 2016 an exceptional geologic event , with no precedents in the last centuries occurred in the territory of Kluane National Park, in Western Yukon. The Slims River, the great waterway that used to flow through the Park staged its own personal protest against climate change, by reversing its direction towards the United States and ceasing to flow in Canadian territory. "River Piracy" is the term used by scientists to describe this caprice of nature. The sudden withdrawal of a glacier caused the draining of the whole water basin, irreversibly modifying the morphology of a region and subverting its balance. A dry highway now runs for miles, marked only by the traces of the caribou and the grizzlies that descend into the night in search of a river to drink water and hunt. But their old ally, migrated elsewhere, is now absent.

Valerio is our science mentor. A friend, a beer lover, and a full time molecular biologist at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. We met him almost by coincidence in 2015, in a crowded craft beer bar in Rome, far from the forests, the tundra and other uncomfortable places.
Conversation immediately took off, ranging from the best record ever recorded by Tool to the life of Guru-scientist Kary Mullis, landing at last to the mutual dream of a collaboration. Together, we are now working on a research to unveil the molecular mechanisms underlying the reaction of human body against extreme-stress conditions. As preliminary data collected by Vert team resulted promising, we are now ready to bring this adventure one step forward. On November 23, Valerio is going to discuss our research in Las Vegas to a scientific audience, looking for inputs, collaboration and funding opportunities to support us and our dream.
