September in the Classroom

Mr. Hakim and Mr. Kinser conducted an experiment in class where students built and tested the weight capacity of bridges. The students could build their bridge however they wanted with minimal length guidelines, and weights were added slowly to test its strength. Being the first experiment in the classroom, students collaborated to plan and build their most effective bridge. Thank you to Mr. Kinser and Mr. Hakim for giving our students hands on experiences! Go Cavs!

🎉CONGRATULATIONS🎉 to our 2028 Distinguished Educator of the Year, Mrs. Glenna Reasland, and our 2028 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Tennys Kane! Mrs. Reasland can be described as inclusive, engaging, and dedicated. Ms. Kane is seen as compassionate, motivating, and knowledgeable. Both teachers are known for their all-in approach to teaching and making sure every student in their class succeeds. They make their kindergarten team stronger, the yellow hall brighter, and the school a better place. We are incredibly fortunate to have them here at The Farm.

@newtowneagles_vb's school garden is growing more than fresh produce. 🌱

What started in 2015 with a grant from the @vbedfound has blossomed into a community gathering place where students, families, neighbors, and volunteers work side by side to grow fresh fruits, vegetables, and lasting connections.

Along the way, students are learning where healthy food comes from and seeing their harvest served in the school cafeteria.

Thank you to Bridget Mariano and the @vbedfound for a great day at the #VBEF Golf Tournament at @heronridgegolf

We’re always glad to support opportunities that invest back into Virginia Beach students, educators, and public education. Events like this are a reminder of how much good can happen when the community shows up together.

And congratulations to the Dills team for bringing home 1st place in the second flight!

We had an incredible time supporting the 🌊🍽️ Pearls of Wisdom Oyster Roast & BBQ hosted by the Virginia Beach Education Foundation at 24th Street Park last weekend!

Thanks to a shared commitment to sustainability, we were able to divert 173 pounds of food waste and compostable tableware from the landfill ♻️🌱—turning it into something that will give back to our soil instead.

Huge shoutout to VBEF for prioritizing environmentally responsible events. This is how real impact happens 🙌 We’re already looking forward to doing it again next year!
