🌟 Exciting Day at the Fly Friendly VC Event! 🌟

On June 3, 2026, a group of VC99s gathered at the Axis Air hangar at Oxnard Airport for an insightful event hosted by the Department of Airports. We delved into their impressive initiatives aimed at addressing noise complaints and enhancing communication and safety between the public, pilots, and VC airports. ✈️

A special highlight was the tour of the beautifully remodeled Axis Air FBO and the California Aeronautical University campus, led by CEO Matt Johnston. We were captivated by his incredible journey of purchasing and restoring Clay Lacy’s iconic 1945 DC-3. 🛩️✨

Stay tuned for more updates on the exciting opportunity to purchase sightseeing flights on this glamorous aircraft!

On September 12, 2026 our beloved Judy Phelps will be inducted into the International Forest of Friendship in Atchison, Kansas. The Forest was established by The Ninety-Nines and the City of Atchison as a living, growing memorial to those who have contributed to aviation and aerospace history.
The two day event will include a cocktail party at the Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum on September 11th with the Induction Ceremony and gala the following day. For registration and hotel details go to ifof.org/annual-event. The closest commercial airport is KMCI Kansas City or if flying yourself K59 Amelia Earhart Airport in Atchison.

Last Saturdays fly out to Fox field. The hills were green and there was still a faint color of orange from the poppies. Beautiful flight clear skies, calm winds and only light turbulence in some areas.

🌟✨ What an extraordinary evening with the incredible Kevin Larosa, founder of Cinejet and aerial coordinator for Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters! 🎬✈️

We were captivated as Kevin shared insights into a day in the life of flying and filming, revealing the meticulous prep and planning that goes into each flight. His “crawl, walk, run” approach to executing flights was both enlightening and inspiring!

Not to mention the intriguing behind-the-scenes stories & aerial shots featuring Hollywood’s A-listers—definitely a highlight of the night! 😄🎥

🌟❤️ **Valentine’s Day Hangar Hang Out!** ❤️🌟

Though the VC99s Valentine’s Day flash mob event was a no-go due to MVFR, we turned our day around with a fabulous hangar hangout at CMA! ✈️✨

Everyone brought their A-game in Valentine’s colors, especially those stunning red hats! 🎩❤️ We enjoyed delicious Valentine’s-themed food and decorated the space with love.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and made it a memorable day! Here’s to friendship, fun, and flying! 🥳✈️💖
