A sincere thank you to the Virginia Occupational Therapy Association (@virginiaotassoc ), William & Mary, conference organizers, presenters, sponsors, students/interns, and volunteers for their time, dedication, and contributions toward making this event possible.

At VCU, we strive to be UNcommon. It is reflected in how I learn, collaborate, and grow.

Through hands-on learning, meaningful connections, and a commitment to serving others, my peers and I across VCU and the College of Health Professions are preparing to make an impact in their professions and communities.

Proud to represent VCU Occupational Therapy and what it means to be UNcommon.

My first time visiting Church Hill gave me the chance to experience one of Richmond’s most beautiful neighborhoods while also giving back to the community.

I spent some time participating in a local cleanup in Church Hill and helping remove litter from the surrounding area. It was a simple reminder that caring for our communities often starts with small, intentional actions and a willingness to contribute.

A huge thank you to @keepvirginiacozy for organizing opportunities like this and for the work they continue to do throughout Virginia.

Next clean up is in Carytown on October 6th. Meet up will be at WalkAbout Outfitters at 5:30 PM.

Thank you @cotad.ch_vcu for demonstrating how to do introductions in ASL.

Communication is more than the words we speak.

VCU OT COTAD spent time learning introductory American Sign Language (ASL) as we continue building our awareness of the many ways people communicate, connect, and participate in everyday life.

As future occupational therapy practitioners, experiences like this remind us of the importance of approaching every client with curiosity, respect, and a willingness to keep learning.
