When I started this little project eight years ago with Vanessa and Egin, I had no idea just how absolutely beautiful, transformative, and life-affirming a community it would spawn. A community of over 700 people from across the world coming together in the darkest of times to celebrate music and friendship as small acts of resistance, and 9 people plus innumerable other supporters making it happen. Huge shout out to the NFDIY lackeys for doing the actual work during the fest so I could actually have some fun this year. (Don’t worry, it’s a lot less fun the rest of the year). New Friends Fest forever. DIY forever. Photo: @larvalungs
