Another weekend on the move! Representative @clyburnsc06 firing up the @orangedemsnc Saturday morning to an evening with friends at the @blackpoliticalcaucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Legends & Legacy Gala to the Mint Museum on Sunday.

And, yes, Moira had to wear a gown and I had to wear a suit on the train down to Charlotte. And, yes, I know a gown on a (cold) train is a little more complicated than a suit.

Mental health is healthcare. And for me, that belief is personal. 💜

I know what it means to carry trauma quietly. To keep achieving while still healing. And to learn later in life that surviving and being well are not the same thing.

For a long time, I thought being strong meant being able to keep going. Career. Motherhood. Leadership. Service. Life.

But you can be successful and still be healing. You can show up for everybody else and still be learning how to show up for yourself.

That’s part of why I’m proud to stand with @inseparableaction / Mental Health Now as a 2026 Mental Health Candidate and support policies that expand access to affordable mental healthcare, strengthen prevention and early intervention, and help people get care before they reach a crisis.

I share some of my personal stories, not because every part of our story belongs to everybody, but because sometimes sharing enough of your story gives someone else permission to begin healing from theirs.

Surviving was the beginning. Healing is the work. 💜 #mentalhealth #ptsdawareness #mentalhealthnow

🚨 DISTRICT 99: Accountability doesn’t wait until January! 🚨

🚨Ring the alarm. 🚨

Our kids are still waiting on what the state promised them.

This is about the Leandro education case but let’s be clear:

Local school boards don’t control funding.
The General Assembly does.

For decades, we’ve debated a “sound basic education.”
Meanwhile:
Students are waiting.
Teachers are stretched.
Families are filling the gaps.

This isn’t a knowledge problem.
It’s a will problem.

So here’s the action:

➡️ Call or email your state legislators THIS WEEK #linkinbio
➡️ Show up to state town halls
➡️ Follow the state budget
➡️ Vote like education depends on it

Because it does.

If we keep pushing at the wrong level, nothing changes.
If we shift the pressure, everything can.

Remember: Children cannot wait for adults to get comfortable. They need us to get courageous.

Your gold star won’t save you. 🌟 Why the SAVE Act is actually a trap for NC voters and the biggest federal overreach we’ve seen in years. The "States' Rights" hypocrisy is REAL. Are you ready for the 30-day purge? Watch to the end to see why your birth certificate is the new "Price of Admission."
