cross is back + you bet i fell off my bike within 3 minutes 😌 and then again 2 minutes after that 😌 hopefully that tells you how excited i was (rather than how shit i am at riding a bike, please let’s blame the excitement). thankfully i’ve stayed upright since and very pleased with two wins and a 2nd in my first three races.

so good to see performance gains but the main goal this year is just to get a full season in, last year ended up ruined by sickness (both acute and chronic) and i only got to play in the mud one time 😪 so going for more breaks from racing to keep my funky immune system as good as it can be, more flu jabs, and less time in confined spaces with potentially sick people. work makes that kinda hard sometimes, so what will be will be, but also while i’m here pls if you’re carrying or could be carrying even a minor virus, do your bit to keep it to yourself cos they’re not minor for everyone and apparently 2020 taught us nothing lol 💖

i would love to see another big womens field at @london_and_se_cross_league @hernehillvelodrome next weekend, super local for london friends and a great venue to try cyclocross for the first time. if you need extra encouragement get in my DMs immediately!!!!!!

p6 elite natty gravel champs 🫨

actually a result that doesn’t say much when there was only ten starters in the elite field lol, but amongst that quality over that duration, i’m so hyped. as predicted, didn’t have the power when going up, and there was a lot of up. thankfully there was also a lot of down, and i could compensate until i couldn’t, then i got a front row seat to some of the best gravel gals in the country do their thing ✨

special shout out to the marshal that told me it was forty seconds to p5 a few km before the finish, put in the descent of my life to close all but two of them. a very fun side quest to end on even if it didn’t quite pay off, and enough to have me finish wanting a little bit more next time. so more gravel it is 😀

CRCC Youth coaches joined Ian Field to deliver a morning of coaching to youth riders from across the Eastern Region.
Riders had a sneak preview of the course that will be Round 3 of the ECXL.
Great to see so many riders from across the region…
