Wessex CX League Rd 5 - Basingstoke 🚴

Back between the tapes for another race and although I said I wanted to improve on last week I had a shocking start once again.

I then spent my matches catching on this technical punchy course managing to avoid the other riders who inspected the ground.

Another great race putting out good numbers.

Not every great ride needs an engine.

Sometimes it’s an early start, a quiet stretch of road and a coffee stop with friends. Other times, it’s reaching the top of that climb a little stronger than last time. Either way, it’s time out doing something you love.

The Trek Madone SL 6 AXS brings serious engineering to those moments. A lightweight carbon frame, aerodynamic design, SRAM Rival AXS wireless electronic shifting and Bontrager carbon wheels.

This stunning example is £4,000, and for a limited time, we’re including FREE pedals with every Madone purchased.

Whether you already enjoy both kinds of two-wheeled freedom or you’re curious about swapping the throttle for pedals, come and take a closer look. Speak to the Veloline team about sizing, the offer and getting ready for your next bike.

INTER-CORPS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026

On Wed 9 Sep 26 our riders travelled to Darley Moor to compete in the Inter-Corps Championships 2026 and the final event of the 2026 road season.

With teams competing on both the Female and Open races the AGC were represented well as has been the case throughout the season.

Both races were fast from the gun and meant that riders had to watch for the break because it would be easy to be left behind.

The Open Team consisting of Maj Robinson, Lt Angiolini, WO2 Cross, SSgt Smith, SSgt Stringer and Sgt Millikin finished 5th overall.

The Ladies Team consisting of SSgt Robinson, LCpl Beckey and LCpl Beddoe didn’t disappoint and showed the men how it’s done coming 🥈 overall.

A fantastic result from both.

Although the road season is done there is still the TT, Gravel and CX series to get involved with. If you want to know more get in touch. All series are open to all riders regardless of experience.

Our AGC riders are making their mark in the Army.

WO2 Dan Cross has been selected as a senior rider to join the Army Cyclocross Team for 2026. Massive congratulations on the achievement.

The Army Cyclocross Race Series is open to all Army personnel. Bring you CX, gravel or mountain bike and give it a go. 60 minutes of getting from the start to the finish by any means possible is a great way to spend a Spirts afternoon.

AGC RIDE OUT 2026 🚴 🚴‍♀️ 🚴‍♂️

28 riders from across the AGC descended on Worthy Down to join up with like minded people including the Corps SM to enjoy a sports afternoon (day) 😉.

All 4 groups tackled the 100km rolling route enjoying a well deserved coffee, cake or wrap along the way.

It was fantastic to see so many riders come together from across the Corps with a few riders completing their first Gran Fondo ever which is no easy task.

Thank you to all the riders, group leaders and support driver for making the day possible.

We look forward to seeing you at the next one.

Last night was everything we hoped it would be… and more 🥹

Since the beginning of this year, we’ve been working hard to build an incredible community on the bike. Last night was all about bringing that community together off the bike ☀️

Seeing so many familiar faces, welcoming new ones, watching friendships form over a slice of pizza and a drink, and celebrating what this community has become was pretty special 🍕🍺

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made the evening what it was. We also couldn’t have done it without the amazing support of some fantastic brands and local businesses. A big shoutout to…
🍕 Dani’s Pizza
🍺 Athletic Brewing Co
🚲 POC
🚴 Veloline
💖 Ride LUCA
💙 The Guilty Cyclist
👚Sixty/8
🧘🏻‍♀️ PBC Body Balance
❤️ Bum Butter
🍏 ARC Nutrition
🏃🏽 Input Performance… for helping make the evening possible!

A massive congratulations as well to all of our raffle winners – we hope you enjoy your prizes! 🎉

Whether you came for the pizza, the raffle, the giveaways, or simply to meet some like-minded people, we hope you left feeling even more a part of the SCP community.

Here’s to many more rides, many more socials, and plenty more memories together 💗🚴‍♀️🍕☀️

🏆 ARMY CYCLING ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026

On a hot Wednesday morning in Colchester the team descended to compete in the 2026 Championships. This time not to compete for the Corps but as individuals.

Tim Stringer and Toby Berry-Naisbitt started the day off in the support race. Both worked hard either with others or solo as the heat took its toll on the competitors both delivered their best performances to date.

Next up was the Masters and Grand Masters race with Jon Robinson, John Axtell and Greg Haskins representing the Corps. An early break went which Jon R followed and worked well as a 4 to stay away. Greg and John A positioned well to conserve energy in the pack knowing it would come down to a sprint finish. Jon R kicked hard and was able to take the win and be crowned the 2026 Grand Masters Champion.

Finally the open riders took to the course with Dan Cross and Jon Robinson for a second time ready for the challenge. A fast paced race there were attacks throughout. Eventually the elastic snapped and Dan dropped from the lead group and cramp hindered Jon’s race but didn’t end Jon’s race.

A fantastic day for the Corps the results below speaking for themselves.

Gravel Rush - Winchester

Nestled in the Matterley Estate I pulled on my Army colours and took on one of the most challenging races I have done.

7 laps accumulating in 64km of fast gravel descents and grippy climbs certainly tested the legs. The heat added to the intensity along with a tasty headwind in certain sections.

I started well holding pace for the first 4 laps before I went hot into a corner and burped my tyre and lost a lot of pressure. I was able to press on but it got worst and I was struggling to negotiates some of the terrain. With 2 laps to go I pulled off the course and dived into the @velolineuk tent. These guys were heroes and got me back on my way in less than I minute.

With an inflated front tyre I was able to complete the final two laps with a very depleted engine.

Finishing lower down the field I would like partly because of my mechanical issues but more so the dodgy engine powering the bike. Some seriously strong riders out there today.

I will definitely recommend this race and will be back next year.
