🔥 TALENT MIGHT GET YOU IN THE ROOM… BUT RELATIONSHIPS KEEP YOU IN THE GAME. 🎧

Is there really gatekeeping in the DJ and music industry—or are some people overlooking one of the biggest keys to longevity?

🎙️ On The Core Queen Chat, Charlotte radio legend Brian “Mr. Incognito” Robinson @incognito98 keeps it REAL about what he’s witnessed throughout nearly 30 years in radio and entertainment.

When you've spent decades perfecting your craft, it can be frustrating watching younger—and sometimes cheaper—talent get opportunities you've worked years to earn. But Mr. Incognito explains why every missed gig isn't necessarily about talent.

Sometimes it's who you know.
Sometimes it's who can bring the crowd.
Sometimes it's business.
And sometimes… it's simply about how you treat people.

💎 STOP THE ENTITLEMENT.

You can be talented and still be difficult to work with. You can have experience and still burn bridges. And you can be the hottest person in the room today—but if you don't know how to build genuine relationships, tomorrow's opportunities may go to somebody else.

🔥 Your reputation enters rooms before you do.

Build relationships. Treat people well. Stay humble. Keep perfecting your craft. Because in an industry where everybody wants the opportunity, character and connections can be just as important as talent.

👀 DO YOU THINK GATEKEEPING IS REAL IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY—or is relationship-building simply part of the business? DROP YOUR OPINION IN THE COMMENTS! 👇🏾🔥

💙 TURNING PAIN INTO PURPOSE 💙

What if the pain you experienced as a child became the very reason someone else finds hope?

🎙️ On this episode of The Core Queen Chat, Special Guest @kjohnson_215 shares his powerful journey from a childhood marked by addiction, instability, and adversity to a life dedicated to education, counseling, and community advocacy.

Rather than allowing his circumstances to define his future, Keevon made a decision to become the person he needed when he was growing up. Today, he is helping young people and families navigate challenges, heal from trauma, and discover their potential through his work in student wellness and community leadership.

His story is proof that your past does not have to determine your future.

✨ Your pain can become your purpose.
✨ Your story can become someone else's hope.
✨ Healing allows you to help others heal.

This conversation is a powerful reminder that even the most difficult beginnings can lead to a life of impact, service, and transformation.

🎬 DON'T WAIT. CREATE. 🎬

How many dreams are waiting because you're waiting for permission?

🎙️ On this episode of The Core Queen Chat, Special Guest @actresslanett shares the philosophy that has guided her incredible career in Hollywood:

"Don't wait, create."

Inspired by her mother's gift for storytelling and a childhood filled with creating skits and bringing stories to life, Lanett learned early that if you can imagine something, you have the power to build it.

Instead of waiting for opportunities to come knocking, she chose to create them—writing, producing, and starring in projects that reflect her vision and open doors for others.

One of the most powerful takeaways from this conversation:

✨ If you can see it, you can create it.
✨ Don't wait for the train to arrive—build the tracks and let it come to you.
✨ The right people will join your journey when they see you moving with purpose.

Your vision wasn't given to everyone else—it was given to you. So stop waiting for permission and start creating.

When you hear about attachment trauma, the mind tends to navigate to a person’s early years experiences. Less consideration is give to how this looks in adulthood and the impact it can have on a person’s ability to navigate life.

The Nurturing Bonds workshop will walk you through how to recognise the differing attachment style’s of people who have experienced attachment trauma, and show you how to navigate the resulting challenges from early years to adulthood.

If I could talk to my 15-year-old self, I’d say:

Stay in school.
Finish sports.
Stop hanging with the wrong crowd.

Because at 16, I got shot. 💔

Sometimes the advice we give our younger selves comes from the scars we still carry today. The choices you make now can change the entire direction of your life.

We hear a lot about absent fathers... but we don't talk enough about the dads who show up. 👏🏾❤️
Fatherhood isn't always perfect. Sometimes it's long-distance calls, sacrifices, and doing the best you can with the circumstances you have. But effort matters. Presence matters. Love matters. 💯

Before judging a man’s parenting journey, remember there may be a lot more to the story.

Not everyone makes it to 30. 💯

After a life shaped by the streets, bad decisions, and time in federal prison, turning 30 felt different. It wasn't just a birthday—it was proof of survival.

A reminder that your past doesn't have to define your future. No matter where you've been, there's always an opportunity to rewrite your story, make different choices, and build a better life. 🔥
