It has been 2 weeks since the IPRF World Championships at Gravestone Precision in Lipan, Texas. What a test of precision and grit.

It was a mentally taxing match with the Texas heat, switchy winds, heavy mirrage and zero margin for error against the absolute best shooters in the world.

Day 1 was tough—tricky wind calls and a few mental errors cost me. Regrouped for Day 2 and shot much better. That put me in 25th in the Open Division and 40th overall.

A huge shoutout to Mike Burdis from @phalanxarms for loading my match ammo—the rifle hammered one-hole groups all week long. My gear and setup ran completely flawless.

Rifle & Gear Specs:

Caliber: 6.5mm Creedmoor
Rifle: Tikka T3X
Chassis: APW B-2 Spirit
Optic: Apex Rival X
Muzzle Brake: Chad

Immensely proud of Team South Africa 🇿🇦 finishing 3rd overall, with all categories securing top 5 spots. Massive thanks to Squad 21 for making the long days on the line an absolute pleasure.

Ultimate Rifle Championship @urcsouthafrica
The @kahles.optics challenge 2026

Massive thanks @pieda.neethling for the hosting of an international COF type match. It was a super great one indeed.

We were 3 shooters tied for first place, Warren, Johan and me. We had to then hold a shoot off for the most hits under the fastest time 💨. Where I was fortunate enough to take the win. Congratulations @_johan.nel_ and @warrenbtpa for keeping the match super tight.

Massive thanks to all the sponsors involved in the series and to @ampannealing for the awesome prize!

I was shooting my trusty 6BRA with 3300 rounds through the @bartleinbarrelsinc tube! It still hammers.

National 2-Day Match Weekend 🇿🇦

Took my new barreled action by @l3i_design out to my national match this past weekend and finally felt like I was getting back into my comfort zone, working through and ironing out the mental battles.

Managed to finish 9th in the Open Division. There's still plenty to work on ahead of the finals in a couple of weeks, but the progress is moving in the right direction.

Great match put together by @wayne.lesch 👍

Lekker squad, great vibes, and a lekker weekend on the range. Looking forward to the next one.

What a weekend on the PRS range🎯.
The wind showed up determined to make life difficult, and the cold/wet conditions made every stage a battle of focus and execution.

Day 1 definitely showed some rust after time away from the gun😑—missed opportunities, lessons learned, and plenty of reminders that this sport doesn’t give anything away.
Day 2 was a different story. The fundamentals came back, confidence returned, and we got back to shooting the way we know we can. Still had to work for every impact with the constantly changing wind, but that’s what makes PRS so rewarding. Unfortunately there was too much catching up to do, but still placed P4 in limited division and P18 overall🙌🏼

As always my Rival X performed flawless🧡thank you @apex_optics @apexopticssa @venaticsgear

Huge thanks to the match director Oom Clive, RO’s ,Sean and his wife for the photos and fellow competitors for another great event. Congrats to all the winners🏆

Most importantly of all thanks to my Lord and saviour for giving me the capability to practice this sport✝️

Time to take what we learned and get ready for the next one💪🏼.

Looking back a few weeks ago in preparation for the @precision_rifle_south_africa National Match at Wolseley, and nothing makes a proud parent's heart fuller than having your little one right beside you at the reloading bench.

She was hands-on from the start, already learning the most important lessons, patience, precision, and above all, safety first.

From the very first day, we instil the four fundamental rules.
1. Treat every firearm as if it's loaded.
2. Never point it at anything you're not willing to shoot.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
4. Know your target and what's beyond it.

The sport of precision shooting isn't just about hitting a target, it's about discipline, focus, and respect. What better place to learn those values than right here, hands-on, from the ground up.
She may be small, but she's already understanding that every single round is loaded with responsibility. 💪
