I led a workshop which I called “Ground Yourself In Play” yesterday at my favorite theatre which is really hard to get to, @thepentheatre - thank you for having us! Thanks to everyone who came and gave themselves and let themselves be seen.

I actually love this work cos it feels real and gives us permission to be tender whilst also being silly cos life is all of it and we have this thing which is kinda clown (and whatever else as well - I don’t think I’m interested in purity) which allows us to play inside of all of the contradictions of being alive. I’m figuring out how I bring my own approach to finding it but I’m loving doing it because this work has been so important to me to feel more myself inside of my inconsistencies and unknowability and to let myself be seen despite that.

You don’t have to know what you are to know what you like is some words I just discovered just then when I was typing that felt like an apt way to sum up what this work is.

I’m getting more into running workshops and I’m seeing what I do as a kind of extension of what I do on stage. If you want to come to a workshop I have one in London coming up in December and others across Europe, which you can find out about on my linktree. If you want me to run a workshop gimme shout on here init.
