I have been waiting to post this since i said in my last post that it was going to be the last post of the semester. Semester over yay.

I have been doing alot of thinking and I wonder if I am lucky or just optimistic. I recently went through a very hard time where I was uncertain of what to do with myself. I had been chasing one goal for such a long time that when I found out it was impossible I lost my sense of direction. It has not been long since this happened but I feel great about the whole event. Infact I feel lucky that it happened. I cant really explain myself without getting into unnecessary detail. The whole event has made me grow as a person and I now have a new goal in life: be self motivating. For almost 7 years now everything i have done has been for the end goal of someone else. I need to have myself at the center of my goals. Now that doesn't mean that I will ignore people in my life or ignore good opportunities if they pass by but I need to be ok with just me. Feeling alot of dorcelessness.

2017-2022. 5 years at verbal winks and I'm so proud of everyone who's about to follow in the club's footsteps!

In my time, I saw audiences balloon from about 30 people to nearly 200. I made friends, I handled money, and more than anything else, I laughed. Au videsen, VW!

Improv Year 4 (11/18/22 show)- It’s just like every other improv show… and it has been an honor being apart of such a great organization.

To perform for all of you guys has been my greatest pleasure. Hearing y’all laugh and take a break from normalcy on those Friday night shows really showed me that all the world needs is something goofy and fun to remind us to not take life so seriously sometimes. We just gotta take what we got and make it up as we go along… all without a script. It’s scary, but I learned through Verbal Winks is all it takes is a bit of commitment and confidence to create something great with the awesome people you surround yourself with.

I thank God everyday for the people I’ve been able to perform with and having the honor of helping coach and produce the show. My biggest hope is that years from now, VW will still have shows on these Friday nights and that it’ll be bigger than what it is now. I know what VW did for me in my college years, and I know it’ll continue having an impact on the HCU campus for years to come.

I’m looking forward to where life takes me next, but for now I have to say that I will always remember my time spent at Verbal Winks and I’m looking forward to being in the audience for future shows. Thanks, everyone. It’s been real.

Improv Year 3 (2/25/22)- It’s like the other years of improv except this time it’s been two years since we did our last show… and what a blast it was to finally do it again!

I had the honor of leading and being one of the coaches for the revival of Verbal Winks, and I’m so proud of everyone who performed! Thankful to everyone who showed up for our first show and also to everyone who helped guide me and coach as well. It brings me great joy to bring back a show that can help people laugh, and I’m happy to say that we’ll be doing this again multiple times this semester! Here’s to many more shows and many more weird improv stories in the future!
