POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

But what does releasing an emotional trigger actually look like?

Letting go doesn’t mean ignoring your feelings, suppressing your anger, or pretending you weren’t hurt.

Sometimes emotional regulation looks like letting the feeling settle in your body before you respond.

Taking a walk.
Breathing.
Looking at photos of the people you love.
Writing down what you’re actually feeling.

Or turning inward to the part of you that was triggered and asking:

“What are you afraid of?”

“What do you need me to hear?”

Sometimes releasing means having the conversation you’ve been avoiding.

Sometimes it means setting a boundary.

And sometimes it means recognizing that you’ve processed what happened—and choosing to stop replaying the same moment in your mind.

Because releasing doesn’t mean saying:

“What they did was okay.”

It means saying:

“I’m not giving this moment the rest of my day.”

And then comes the part we often forget:

Choose what gets your attention next.

Your attention is energy.

You can keep pouring it into something that already happened…

or bring it back to the person, conversation, opportunity, beauty, or life that is actually in front of you.

Release what already happened.
Return to what’s here now.

Your peace doesn’t have to end where the trigger began.

Save this for the next time something gets under your skin—and send it to someone who’s learning to let go, too. 🤍

I’m grateful to my life coaches, @Vered @Maya @Rebekah, for helping me learn how to practice this in my own life. 🤍

In a previous episode of North Star Conversations, we sat down with Vered Kogan 🎙️

"Suffering occurs when we're overattached to something, to the neglect of something else over time."

That one stopped us in our tracks 👀

It's not about what you're focused on. It's about what you're ignoring in the process.

And the longer that neglect goes on — the deeper the suffering gets.

What are you overlooking right now?

I just got back from my first @nsaspeaker CSP/CPAE Summit and I’m still processing it.

I’ve been to a lot of conferences over the years. Some are helpful. Some are fine, but forgettable. This one was different.

What made it so powerful was the time we spent in our mastermind group led by @kevincsnyder (aka "Dr. Kevin"). Nine of us spent 3 days together having honest conversations about our businesses, our challenges, and where we’re getting in our own way.

We communicated with transparency, candor, and an openness to receive feedback, even when it was hard to hear. We didn’t sugarcoat things, and no one took it personally.

What I walked away with wasn’t just insight, but clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of trust with people who genuinely want to see each other win.

There’s something rare about being in a room where everyone is generous with their experience and honest about their struggles. Where the goal isn’t to impress each other, but to help each other move forward.

It was gratifying to connect with many of my colleagues at a deeper level and to build relationships that will last well beyond this event.

I'm grateful for the conversations, the push, and the people. This one will stay with me for a long time.

Special thanks to my group for making this experience memorable!

I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it. I had a cold earlier in the week and the idea of lingering head pressure on a long flight to Scottsdale sounded about as attractive as a colonoscopy. 🤣 But I’m SO VERY GLAD I did. My very first @nsaspeaker CSP Summit over-delivered on so any levels, but - as is typical - it knocked it out of the park on community, good conversation, and friendship. Leaving with pages full of notes and a head full of happy memories.

Extra big shoutout to my mastermind group for the weekend - y’all are something special and I’m so grateful for the time with you! ❤️ Until the next time!

There’s nothing like being in a room full of speakers who are passionate about their message and serious about their craft.

Last week at NSA Influence 2025, I had a great time reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new ones.

Grateful to everyone who stopped by the Amplify booth and to the speakers out there, turning life experience into lasting impact through books.

Because at the end of the day, authors are speakers, and speakers are authors. And the best communicators know how to tell their story, on stage and on the page.

Big thanks to Aaron Knipp and the @cicospace team for being great booth neighbors!

Until next year.

The Power of True Connection

It’s easy to get caught up chasing significance and personal ambition, but life’s greatest rewards come through connection.

It’s about the gratitude we show, the contributions we make, and the relationships we build along the way.

I had the pleasure of joining Vered Kogan, CSP® Kogan on The Mindset Game Podcast a year ago to discuss just that—the power of connecting with others and living a life of purpose. It’s incredible how time flies!

In a world that seems more divided every day, the importance of leading from within has never felt more critical. I recently attended The Heart of War workshop with @eoarizona , and it was designed specifically for entrepreneurs and leaders to help us find a path to peace, even amid the chaos around us.

Here’s what we dove into:

✔️ Understanding Polarization: We explored where polarization comes from and how it affects both our personal lives and businesses.

✔️Discovering Self-Leadership: We learned how leading from within can create harmony, fostering more peaceful interactions with those around us.

✔️Cultivating Inner Peace: We practiced a technique to heal internal conflicts, finding balance that supports a stronger, more effective leadership approach.

I walked away with a deeper understanding of myself and a few practical tools to lead with compassion, clarity, and confidence. It was a great reminder that growth is a journey, and as leaders, our work on ourselves is never done. Here’s to evolving together.
