If you missed it: Out of Office is Companion’s series all about life beyond the 9-to-5 — this event’s theme was MOVING, motion in mind, body, and soul.

We broke it down into three sessions — Mindfulness, Fitness, and Self-Care — plus a networking mixer to close out the night. Real speakers, real conversations, real connection.

I thought I was just hosting a screening for my Birmingham loved ones and community. BOY WAS I WRONG😭! I have been sitting with what this night meant to me🫀, and I still don’t have the exact words to describe the rollercoaster of emotions that has been flowing throughout my being since the screening. Come With Me gave me such a beautiful excuse to bring so many people that I love together. There was something so special about looking around the room at House Eleven and seeing each of your faces in one place, celebrating something that means the world to me.
Pursuing acting for almost 2 decades, with multiple attempts to pivot because “life be life’in”... film has somehow ALWAYS found its way back to me. I’ve booked some pretty amazing projects, but there is something so special about Come With Me. I’m so thankful to this team( our director-Aaron Harvey, @demetriusstear @theorossi and @johnny_croom )for giving me the space to do these things back home with my community! I had the opportunity to look every single person in the room in their eyes, one pair at a time🤣, and tell them what their presence has meant to me. The laughter, tears, hugs, and full transparency brought me a ridiculous amount of joy. I was not able to keep it together y’all! 😂

Thank you, Jesus, for giving me the strength & endurance to overcome the obstacles, the courage to keep going after rejection, & wisdom to create when there wasn’t always an obvious path forward. To my parents, my brother, AJ, the @houseelevenbhm fam, and my very wide village near and far, thank you guys for EVERYTHING! we see a friendship that showcases the meaning of showing up and being present, when you need each other the most! What it looks like to check on your people, and to know how the people in your village show up for you! Without even realizing it, you all reminded me exactly what that looks like. You showed up, celebrated this film and milestone with me, listened, and shared sentiments I will carry for a very long time.
Birmingham, I love you. 🧡

Hello and Happy Labor Day!

I am so excited to share that the Movement for PD class will begin next Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026!

This year we are having sessions. The first six-week session will be from Sept. 15, 2026 throught Oct. 22, 2026. Class will be held at The Dance Foundation on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 am. I have attached the flyer, which includes the address of The Dance Foundation, a QR code listing the days and times of each class in the session, and a link to email with any questions. You can also respond to this email with any questions.

I am also including a link to the Alabama State Council on the Arts podcast website. There is a short podcast about Movement for PD. My name is in the title. Please give it a listen!

Please join us for class this fall. No dance experience is required; bring a friend, care partner, or loved one.
