I was in the scorers booth and heard coach Coby yell “change direction”. Ella jab step and turn, Dorthy below the line for D to D pass, Wes off the bench right into position for easy zone exit. Go Flames! 🔥🔥

I’ve lived the path. Now I teach it.
Growing up playing youth hockey in Vermont, I had the same dream that so many young players have today—to see how far this game could take me.
That journey took me from Vermont Youth Hockey → Prep School → Junior Hockey → Division I Hockey → Professional Hockey.
Every level taught me something different. I learned what helped me advance, what held me back, what separates players at the next level—and, most importantly, what I wish I had known when I was younger.
That is a major part of the mission behind Vermont Hockey School.
I want to give young players the tools, knowledge, coaching, and perspective that I didn’t always have growing up in Vermont. Development isn’t just about doing more drills. It’s about understanding why you’re doing them and learning what it actually takes to become a better hockey player.
Skill development. Hockey IQ. Mental toughness. Accountability. Leadership.
My goal isn’t simply to make you a better shooter or skater. It’s to help you understand the game, develop the right habits, become more confident, and prepare yourself for whatever level you’re chasing.
I’ve experienced the journey. Now my job is to help the next generation navigate theirs.
Real Experience. Real Development. Real Results.

Know Your Shot. Change the Outcome. 🎯🏒

Not every shot is designed to score.
Elite players understand the difference between shooting to score and shooting for a rebound—and knowing when to use each can be the difference between creating a highlight or creating a goal.

✅ Shoot to Score
• Pick your corner.
• Commit to your target.
• Be quick.
• Prioritize precision over power.

✅ Shoot for a Rebound
• Read the time, space, and situation.
• Shoot for the goalie’s pads to create a second opportunity.
• Create chaos around the net.
• Give your teammates a chance to capitalize.

The smartest shooters don’t just fire the puck—they understand why they’re shooting and what outcome they’re trying to create.

At the Vermont Hockey School, we teach players how to think the game, read the situation, and become more dangerous offensive threats—not just better shooters.

Improve Your Hockey IQ. Improve Your Game. 🧠🏒

One of the biggest differences in our shooting lessons isn’t just the reps—it’s the knowledge.
In a one-hour shooting lesson at the Vermont Hockey School, it’s amazing how much information is shared. Every drill has a purpose, every rep has intent, and every correction is designed to help players understand why they’re making a change—not just how.

A smart shooter doesn’t rely on luck. They understand shot selection, deception, timing, body positioning, and how to read the game. That’s what separates good shooters from elite ones.

Come learn from coaches who have played at the highest levels and start thinking the game like an elite player.

Kuba Pavlik never stops putting in the work. This kid loves the game. He’s willing to do whatever it takes.. he works on his skating just as much as his shot. He’s a sponge for knowledge. Always listening & always learning. You would think he’s a college kid based off his size, skill, & mindset. 15 years old, drafted to the Q out of Vermont. Get ready to see more of his name for years to come!

Last practice for the 25/26 season. This is a group of 11 to 13 year old boys (and one badass girl). Without even looking at them, with one whistle, Coach PAV has the complete and total attention of every skater within seconds. There is no side conversation, no looking down, no playing with snow - just silence and all eyes on Coach PAV. Because of the discipline and structure of the Flames program, Ben has improved his game more than in any other year, and we can’t wait until next season.
