$a month on from @refractor.festival, i’m reflecting on the beautiful musical gathering with some more photos from that weekend:) thank you to the whole team, volunteers, artists and attendees who made it so magical !! can’t wait to be back next year ✨$

$𝑩𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥. While artists were performing on stage, Verónica Bergua was creating a painting live, slowly transforming a blank canvas into a visual reflection of the weekend. Throughout the festival, visitors stopped by to watch the piece evolve, becoming part of the process through conversations, observations and shared moments. We were lucky to have Verónica creating live at Refractor, adding another layer to the dialogue between music, landscape and artistic expression that makes the festival what it is. @verobergua is a Madrid-based emerging artist and Fine Arts student at Nebrija University. Her practice moves across painting, drawing, photography, video and installation, exploring the relationship between memory, identity, emotional landscapes and the way we inhabit space. Her recent work has been presented at Art Madrid 2026, where she exhibited “Cartografía del tío Pablo”, a deeply personal project investigating mental health, compulsive accumulation and the emotional connections we develop with objects and places. Through a multidisciplinary approach, she combines sensitivity, intuition and material experimentation to create works that invite reflection on human experience and personal narratives.
