it’s a scream baby!

We’re All Going to Die Tonight is about 7 teenagers on the debate team who are isolated in an airbnb. they play a game of truth or dare and then each of them starts to go missing. this is a scream-inspired thriller that’s perfect for anyone who loves 90s slasher movies. I finished the book in one sitting, it’s that good!

fun fact: this year is the 30th anniversary of Scream! perhaps you celebrate with a rewatch and reading this book 🔪

A debate team stays in an isolated mansion that’s an exact replica of the house from Hitchcock’s North by Northwest. It’s late at night, their van has a flat tire, and there’s ZERO cell service. What could possibly go wrong? Add in teen drama, raging hormones, overachieving Type A students, and one narcissistic rich boy, and the very important question of WHERE ARE THE CHAPERONES?! The setup alone had me ready for the inevitable yelling at the characters to make better decisions. But then someone is killed! Who can you trust?

We’re All Going to Die Tonight! by @veronicabane delivers campy slasher energy, a creepy atmosphere, and plenty of suspense to keep you guessing. I had SO MUCH fun reading this and it was a great pick to start spooky season! I kept saying just one more chapter… but the short chapters with multiple POV grabbed my attention and kept me reading late into the night, way past my bedtime.

Loved being on your street team @veronicabane and the concept of traveling ARC made for such a memorable and fun experience! I loved getting to see the thoughts and comments of some of the other early readers!

My reading taste is becoming increasingly concerning, but at least my TBR is thriving. 🥀

As someone who writes YA mysteries, I have a particular weakness for unsettling stories, complicated characters, dark forests, family secrets, and books that make me question absolutely everyone.

These twelve have been calling my name lately, and I fully intend to make spooky season everyone else’s problem.
