A Fox held in time.

I’m older now than most of my kind
With fur turning from red to grey
My world can be hidden, hard to find.
My life I live just day to day

But give me a moment paused in sunlight
Protected by grasses grown high
And I will take breath without fear or fright
and hold my moment as you hold my eye.
