These cold wintery days are my favorite time to reflect on how grateful I am to be able to do something that I love and can share with you. The store was quiet yesterday and in those quiet moments, I stood in gratitude for the space both you and I have created together. My artist friends and I might create the physical space and the beauty of it, but you fill it with heart and soul, a gift I never take for granted.
Snuggle in and stay warm and I’ll see you guys in the shop really soon.
Xo,
Emily

“In the Autumn of 2023, poets from around the United States came together to honor and uplift the work and life of Norm “Math” Mattox, poet, teacher, mentor, actor and community elder. MathMattox was and remains a consummate educator, expressing himself with a wisdom and erudition so uncommon as to make him stand out in any gathering of minds. His emotional authenticity and open, seeking spirit make him stand out everywhere else.

MathMattox has always brought a melenge of experience and skills to the table, as his name implies. Able to speak to the creative and the analytical alike, his perceptions and extrapolations on subjects from Trigonometry to Racial Justice, have provided a consistent guide for those who love and follow his work, even when he himself has struggled with his health.

In the spirit of MathMattox, we are donating all proceeds from all editions of this book to Norm, both to assist him as needed, and to provide him with the means to assist others in ways he knows are healthy and productive. One complication of being extraordinary is the fact that others will and do beg for your time and energy often and intensely. When we told Norm about this project, his first thought was for the people he could help with the proceeds.

Help us, he’ll help others, and so we all feed and nurture each other.”
