Looking forward to presenting and discussing ‘Nottingham Subcultural Fashion in the 1980s’ (curated with @katherinestownsend at @boningtongallery last year) for the National Centre for Academic and Cultural Exchange Festival tomorrow (4pm online).

It looks as though [free] tickets aren’t available now, but DM me for Zoom links if interested in joining.

@fodder_stompf’s accompanying essays are still available to read/download from @boningtongallery’s website — on exhibition’s webpage — thoroughly recommend.

We’ve been gathering together some fantastic materials relating to Nottingham’s fashion history, which we’ll have on display this Thursday for our event with @_paul_gorman_
•
We’ll also be joined by several of the key representatives and protagonists of the city’s sartorial past, who will be on hand to introduce and describe the ‘scene’ from that time, and the legacies that continue.
•
Please join us, book via the link in our bio or website.

1hr Autopsy workshop irl + online — May 17th. Tickets below.
—
Art director Emily Keegin interrogates fashion imagery from leading photographers and image-makers — hosted by Version Mag.
—
Autopsy; meaning ‘to see with one’s own eyes’. We will use this interpretation of an autopsy as the framework for the interrogation of contemporary fashion-related imagery in this one hour workshop. We are excited to invite Emily Keegin to lead the session.
Emily is an art director living in San Francisco. She has directed some of our favourite photographers at Fader Magazine, and is head of image at IBM. Emily's image interrogations on her IG stories, surrounded by her library of books and recent magazine purchases, have been a staple of our studio since she began during lockdown (@emily_elsie).
The session will take place online, but also in the Version Study. This is a sign up for the online session (please contact us directly to enquire about joining us physically).
The Version Study is a new space for creative prototyping, on location outside of the city. Located 1.5 hours from London in rural Oxfordshire, a programme of events is spread throughout the year.
“It’s been a long-term dream of ours to provide a space which explores wide open ideas underpinned by solid research. We’re very excited to hear from anyone who would like to be involved. Designers and artists, writers and image makers, students and educators.”
