Day 2 was another fantastic day at TXA26! 🎉 We started with more Honors Awards and an inspiring keynote by Ronald Rae, followed by a trip through the retro-themed Expo Hall. 🏆

The afternoon brought a Taste of the Pearl site tour, where we got to sample delicious food while exploring some incredible architecture. 🏛️🍴

We wrapped up the night in style at the President’s Party with an ’80s theme! 🎸🕺 A perfect way to celebrate another memorable day filled with architecture, connections, and great conversations.

Wonderful evening at @austin_home Editor’s Preview of the Fall 2026 issue at Next Door Creative in East Austin — designed and developed by @pollenarchitecture.

We celebrated the 40th anniversary of the AIA Austin Homes Tour and spotlighted some of Austin’s leading architects and interior designers — all within an emerging Austin Design District.

Guests got a rare peek inside some of the city’s most creative studios:

OPEN STUDIOS
Pollen Architecture • Fern Santini • Lake Flato • Ten Eyck Landscape Architecture • FÖDA • Faye + Walker Architecture • BGK Architects • Studio Luck • Sam Burch Architect

A great night celebrating Austin’s architecture, design, and creative community.

Skout is proud to play a small part — not only calling Next Door Creative home, but also helping shape the community through our leasing work here.

What happens when art, technology, nature, and Austin come together?

For Design Austin’s WaterWork installation, we were brought in to capture more than the event—we wanted to capture the story behind it.

We produced a three-part video series featuring Emily Eisnehart and Justin Rankin, exploring the inspiration, creative process, innovative technology, and cultural significance behind WaterWork.

The challenge? **Three high-quality videos. One event day. A lot of story to tell.**

Our approach:
→ Captured interviews, the installation, and supporting footage on the day of the event
→ Edited and condensed hours of material into three focused stories
→ Released each video a few days apart to extend the conversation
→ Collaborated with participants, sponsors, and organizations to amplify the reach

The result?

📈 7,597 accounts reached
🎥 3K–6K Reels views per video
❤️ ~300 likes per video
👀 88% of viewers were non-followers

The biggest win? The content didn’t just reach the existing audience—it introduced WaterWork and its story to thousands of people who weren’t following the account.

**Good event content documents what happened. Great event content gives people a reason to care after it’s over.**

Some companies make products. Others build a philosophy.

In July, we were invited by Cori Brown of @glasshousegallery.carmel in Carmel to join her on a three-day whirlwind trip through Venice, Murano, and Burano, hosted by the luxury entrance design and fabrication studio, @oikos_venezia.

Over those few days, we had the privilege of spending time with the Oikos team, learning firsthand about their approach to designing and crafting custom entrance doors. Every detail reflects an incredible commitment to innovation, security, craftsmanship, and design—proving that an entryway should be an experience.

But this trip was about so much more than doors. It was three days of history, design, food, art, craft, and human connection—and a crash course in the culture and traditions of Venice, Murano, and Burano.

What struck us most wasn’t just the engineering or the beautiful finishes (chef’s kiss!), but the pride. Pride in Italian craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and creating something that is both exceptionally functional and undeniably beautiful.

Our photos don’t do the trip justice, nor do they capture how deeply design, heritage, and hospitality are woven into everything Oikos does.

We’re incredibly grateful to Cori for the invitation, and to the Oikos team for three unforgettable days of inspiration, hospitality, and a true immersion into Venetian culture and craft.

What an experience to remember.

During SXSW this year, 120 of the top minds in design gathered on Rainey Street for the inaugural DESIGN HOUSE. The stunning top floor of @paseoatx bore witness to a conversational collision of architecture, film, media, interiors, and city building.

@austin_home came together with a dream team of local leaders — @utsoa, @aiaaustin, @design.austin, and @lvcollective_ — to curate this first-of-its-kind event.

Austin has already established itself as an iconic center of gravity for design. Now, we put our stakes in the ground of the national design conversation.

An enormous thank you to our panelists for lighting spark after spark in the room, and our attendees for helping to shape the first year of DESIGN HOUSE.

Given the gravitas of our panels that day, we will be releasing them soon for all to enjoy.

This event was powered by our partners @fourhandsfurniture @dowbuilt, with support from @stratussurfaces @benjaminmoore @wsib2b @italkraft @cosentinousa and @unlistedforyou.

THE COLORFUL THREAD THAT BINDS
—
At the end of last year we were asked to compile a group of letters from past @aiaaustin presidents, in recognition of Ingrid Spencer’s 10 years of service as the AIA Austin’s Executive Director.

We’ve had the immense pleasure of working with @veruker during her tenure. She leads with compassion; shows up fearlessly every single day for the architects; and is the colorful thread that binds the designers of Austin, in all disciplines, together.

Needless to say, we were delighted to give a small token of gratitude back to this incredible person.
