“[Marina] Re and Celeste Ciulla gave standout performances at Saturday’s show. I was impressed by the nuance the brilliant Marina Re brought to Green, who was funny and at times tragic without ever veering into caricature… Ciulla’s performance contained similar depth.
– Marion Umpleby, Valley News

“The Waverly was outstanding, probably best of season. And Marina Re’s performance was one of the best, if not the best, in the history of Shaker Bridge! With several relatives who have suffered dementia we could readily relate to the character’s suffering through the impossible loss of a family member. And Bill’s direction was obvious...direction that made each word and move real. Congratulations on another wonderful season. We have already purchased next season’s tickets.”
– G & C Daniels

First look at THE WAVERLY GALLERY by Kenneth Lonergan. Now thru May 24 at Shaker Bridge Theatre

“At its heart the play is about connection, identity, and the enduring support of family.”
- James Kent, Mountain Times

“The Waverly Gallery” will tug at the audience’s heartstrings as they watch a beloved matriarch slip into the terrifying world of dementia and witness her children try to find a place of love, light, and acceptance during one of their mother’s most trying chapters.”
- Emma Stanton Vermont Standard

“Deftly presents senility as an exaggerated state of the natural human condition… Deeply theatrical and often deeply funny.”
– The New York Times

Gladys, the elderly matriarch of the Green family, has run an art gallery in a small Greenwich Village hotel for many years. The management wants to replace her less-than-thriving gallery with a coffee shop. Always irascible but now increasingly erratic, Gladys is a cause of concern to her daughter, her son-in-law, and her grandson, from whose point of view this poignant memory play is told. A wacky and heartrending look at the effect of senility on a family.

I’ve always said I wanted Emotional Support Animals to kick off its festival run right here in Maryland. Sitting in a packed theater with the cast, crew, and friends who made this thing happen… all 150 of you… that’s the dream.

It looks like it might actually play out that way.

I’m honored to say ESA has been accepted into the @silvervoxfest , happening June 18–21 in Frederick.

Let’s sell this thing out so fast they have no choice but to add another screening!!! Impossible to tag everyone.. Please share so everyone that was apart of this can see their hard work on the big screen!!

This past summer I had the unimaginable delight to be a member of the Revel Grove Dance Co. with the Maryland Renaissance Festival. It was a dream come true, where I was able to incorporate all of my favorite aspects of performance art into a daily routine to spread mirth and merriment to so many.

To the Possé, I’m beyond grateful to have worked with you all, and I am so happy to have made so many new, meaningful friendships. To the militia, thank you for taking me in so warmly and respectfully (well, maybe not respectfully in a conventional sense; iykyk 🤣), as well as for trusting me with the work in spite of this being my first year. And speaking of, thank you to EVERYONE on cast for being so inclusive, kind, thoughtful, and supportive. I had only just met you all and you were so willing to provide knowledge and guidance that was immensely helpful.

There are countless others to thank, not least of which being our outstanding directors, stage managers, costume designer, and more. Your hard work and diligence is deeply appreciated 🩵

Until next we meet on the pathways of Revel Grove, dear friends! I am certain I shall see thee anon.
