Happy Monday, book friends! We have a special announcement today… 💖

For almost five years, you’ve helped us write a story about connection, curiosity, and community, all from a little bookshop tucked away in the East Village. For that, we THANK YOU. Books and community mean everything to us. And Sacramento is such a literary city, we feel so lucky to be here. 💛

A new chapter is unfolding in our story. We’re so happy to be able to announce that we’ll be expanding into a new East Village Bookshop location on J St. at the end of the month!

Our new bookstore will be located on the vibrant, walkable corner of J & 25th St. We’ll be right next to some local favorites: Babes Ice Cream & Donuts, Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates, Ro Sham Beaux wine bar, Veg Cafe, Thai Basil, Drunken Noodle Thai, Rick’s Diner, Sugar Shack Boutique, Moppet Shoppe, Chloé Coffee, Jungle Bird, and so much more.

We have no plans to close our little East Sac location. It will remain a little satellite bookshop to our main store on J St. 🫶🏽

We’re planning a soft opening on Small Business Saturday 11/29 and we’ll have some local authors doing signings that weekend. Including Rachel Ertassi, Anara Guard, Eileen Goudge, Jennifer Sander, Jeff Galvin, Janay Brown-Wood, Shelley Blanton-Stroud, and more!

Stay tuned for more details on our opening day. Cheers to more stories, more readers, and more magic ahead. 📚✨

Everyone—allow me to introduce you to @janebertch, author of the fantastic The French Ingredient and founder of the cooking school @lacuisineparis. Having read an advance copy of her memoir, I jumped at the opportunity to help host a book event for her last night with Roxanne Langer and Jennifer Sander. And now, I would classify Jane as a friend and kindred spirit.
