Man this is a hard post. For the past 12-ish years I have played soccer so it’s kind of hard to believe that rec and school ball is over. Thank you to all of my rec coaches and teammates for all of the fun memories we’ve made together. It was never a serious competition and we always had fun playing. There were definitely times where I showed up to practice with a frown on my face or tears down my cheeks but I never left with them. Rec soccer has been the best experience ever. I have made so many new friends and have gotten to see them grow. I would also like to thank school soccer. It has definitely helped me improve my game immensely even when there were times when I was questioning what in the world this drill was for. I have gained so much experience from those older than me and those younger than me. Despite all the injuries (concussions, sprains, inflammation, etc) I learned that I enjoy playing such a competitive sport. I hate that towards the end I lost my passion but my teammates made sure I would never quit. Thank you Coach Kamby and Coach Brixie for making my last year enjoyable. Last but not least, thank you to my teammates for showing me what I was good at. I know there have been times when I was upset or angry and I didn’t want to be there but a lot of my younger teammates showed me care and compassion. To Kam, soccer is something she has fun with. Always being cheerful and witty and supportive. You will always be my first child. To Audrey, you’re one of the ones I get along with the most. We have several things in common and I love watching you play soccer and talk about Skz. To AK, it’s your turn to take my place. You have the same chaotic energy that I do (albeit more calm than me) and always notice people’s feelings. Keep being a caretaker on the team. To Lily, my favorite person I got to watch grow. You’re doing so well and you’re so smart. I’m lucky to have you around me as much as I do. To Erona, I’m glad that I got to know you this season. You’re a really sweet person. Keep being you. To Ivy, Elaina, and Kelly, I love and care for all of you. Stay in touch no matter where you go! i’m so proud of each and every one of you.
