It is true," When Zeta calls, we will answer one and all"!!!! When our chapter member and Executive Director of St. James Social Service Corporation, Vesta Godwin Clark, said she needed volunteers for their annual Golf Invitational and with their soon to open clothing boutique, our sorors answered the call for BOTH volunteer needs! A few sorors even supported the golf event by particpating as golfers and gaining donations from their employers for their volunteer service! Those volunteering at the 2 holes, helped raise an additional $1200 for the event! Yep, that's sister hood in motion! Thank you sorors for your dedication to provide service to the community!

So, I have an “emergency” milk crate that I keep in my car… a throwback to when I was a “fundraising road warrior” and spent a lot of time driving. Over the years the milk crate got moved from one car to the next. The kit includes jumper cables, a flashlight, an umbrella, flares, rain ponchos, and of course at the very bottom…banners on a roll!!!!!🤣🤣🤣 My MOD friends will understand.

Another bucket-list experience ✔️ AND supporting a worthy cause at the St. James Social Services 6th Annual Golf Invitational. ⛳

Took a swing. My back took one too. 😂

What’s your latest bucket-list hit?

I did a thing today! ⛳️

It was my very first time on a golf course and although I was not golfing, I was volunteering for a great cause with St. James Social Services at Black Bear Golf Club alongside my Sorors. 💙🤍

Giving back in any way I can is a core part of who I am, and it directly aligns with the principles of my Sorority, Zeta Phi Beta, and the impactful mission of St. James Social Services in Newark, NJ.

Highlights from a great day:

Hole 14 "Beat the Pro": I worked Hole 14 helping raise additional funds as golfers tested their luck to get closer to the pin than the pro!

Perfect Weather: So grateful the rain stayed away, making it a beautiful day to volunteer.

Nothing beats a day of fellowship, fun, and giving back! ✨️

Lastly, I just want to acknowledge my Soror Vesta Godwin Clark who is the director at St. James Social Services and on the board for this event. She TRULY has a heart for service and the community. It is not easy to put on an event especially one of this caliber. Congratulations to you and your amazing team. 👏🏾👏🏾

When your girlfriend is a model and needs to send in some photos, you drop everything and have an impromptu photo shoot.

Our annual Jewels of the Community event was truly a success! We are deeply grateful to our honorees for saying yes; to Assemblywoman @shanique_speight for serving as our wonderful mistress of ceremonies; to our sponsors; and to everyone in the community who showed up with such love and support for our organization, specifically our food programs. Your generosity, kindness, and commitment continue to make this work possible. Visit the official St. James Social Service Corporation website at stjamesssc.org to learn more or support our mission.
