BUT, what Universal Pictures didn’t realize, is that it far from tanked in the wide eyes of hundreds of thousands of young people who found it captivating, inspiring, hilarious and just straight UNREAL!!! 🔥📽️🍿 With each decade that passed, and with its release onto VHS, cable, and DVD...it gained a cult-classic fan base that spans WORLDWIDE 🌎🙌🏽🎉
Fans have proudly made North Shore a part of their lives and their children’s lives... Exchanging favorite one liners with their friends and family...naming their kids and pets after their favorite characters, and even inspiring them to surf, to shape, to dream big and to keep the stoke, all while “staying loose”—on Hawaii, on the mainland and worldwide. 👾🩸 „Der Killerparasit“ (1982) – der Film, der beweist, dass man in den 80ern nur drei Dinge brauchte, um Science-Fiction-Horror zu machen:
1. Eine Wüste
2. Eine Nebelmaschine
3. Einen Gummiklumpen, der „Parasit“ genannt wird

Charles Band serviert hier eine Zukunft, in der die Menschheit vor einem Parasiten flieht, der aussieht, als hätte jemand einen Alien in der Mikrowelle vergessen. Der Schleimball ist wütend, glitschig – und erstaunlich ehrgeizig, wenn es darum geht, Leuten ins Gesicht zu springen.

Die Geschichte?
Ein Wissenschaftler experimentiert ein bisschen zu enthusiastisch herum (wie immer), erschafft damit das ultimative Bioglibber-Monster und verbringt den Rest des Films damit, vor seinem eigenen Fehler wegzurennen. Wer sagt denn, Wissenschaft sei nicht sportlich?

Du bekommst:
🔥 80er-Dystopie, die so teuer aussieht wie ein zusammengeklaubtes Filmset hinter dem Baumarkt
💉 Parasiten, die mehr Sabber haben als Bedrohlichkeit
👩‍🦰 Opfer, die IMMER genau da stehen, wo man absolut nicht stehen sollte
🚗 Sci-Fi-Action in der Wüste, wo offensichtlich niemand gefragt hat, ob es Schatten gibt

Und natürlich diesen unverwechselbaren VHS-Vibe:
leicht körnig, leicht klebrig, komplett herrlich.

Kurz:
„Der Killerparasit“ ist ein Film wie ein schleimiger Handschlag – unangenehm, seltsam… und trotzdem irgendwie charmant. 😄👾
