A bunny made from button downs 💙💗 I still have to finish embroidering the facial features but it sure felt nice to get this far today! She's for my niece, on her first birthday. These are her mom (my sister)'s old oxfords. It was a fun twist thinking about making a gift on someone's birthday instead of buying one ahead of time to deliver on the birthday. Both gestures are thoughtful and kind, this is just how it worked out from me to miss Delaney this year. I thought about her all day long in the studio. Happy birthday, DGM! I love you forever 💕

It’s still Giving Tuesday and we want to say THANK YOU again to all of you for making this way of serving and knowing our community possible. It is a joy to meet you and delight visitors in our part of Montana. We love hearing what you are excited about, what you’re sharing, and who you’ve met.

We are community-driven, supported by volunteers, and fueled by donations of all kinds. We are just getting started! Thank you for showing us all the power of community resources and collective creativity.

Thanks especially to Community Outdoor Recreation Association (you may know from @valleyoftheflowersproject, where we send fabric for Bring Your Own Bags for Change). The Community Craft Supply project is now sponsored by the Community Outdoor Recreation Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. This means you can make a tax-deductible donation to support our mission of connecting our community of artists, teachers, hobbyists, and makers by giving new life to unused creative supplies!

Creative Reuse Montana is hosting our first-ever event on Monday, October 14. 🧡💚💜 We’re so excited to celebrate the first time Indigenous People’s Day is a Montana state holiday, alongside Columbus Day, with food and making - led by @sarahjmussetter!

Join a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn about the traditions of parfleche and waxed food bags, enjoy a creative food experience, and make your own wax wraps to carry home a custom Montana-inspired trail mix using traditionally available ingredients.
* Cost is $30 per person for ages fifteen and up
* Younger creators must come with a parent - included in cost, though total seats are limited (DM for code)
* Reserve your spot soon, only 15 spaces available!

Sarah Mussetter is an enrolled member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and an Artist Educator who loves helping people connect through creativity, culture, and food. Cooking is one of her favorite ways to explore tradition and community, and she’s always looking for ways to soften our impact on the earth.

This is event is supported by:
@frontporchchocolate is providing all of the supplies to create beeswax baggies

@foodworkslivingston is providing bulk ingredients to create the trailmix

@woodsrosemarket is providing Montana beef jerky and honey

@suncatchermt is providing fresh mint, that we picked in their gardens yesterday and dried for tea

@vicenzi.design will be on hand to help us sew two pieces of fabric together before we apply beeswax

Held in our shared workshop space with @studio49_mt

I was truly blessed with so many firsts this summer.

This little business has grown leaps and bounds in ways I didn’t expect, and within only two years I am on a completely different trajectory.

I’ve been beyond busy and pushed past my creative boundary into new, demanding territory. I now know what I am capable of, and more importantly, where the cracks are in my work.

In this next season, I am really looking forward to slowing down and turning back towards designing, creating for creations sake, and honing in on technical skills that desperately need attention.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my work over the years. I am forever changed!
