If you saw me leave after party kickons at 6am, go straight to the airport still absolutely battered, and somehow managed to make my flight, no you didn’t 😂

Dropzone All Stars ‘26 super secret guest half way through the season 🤪.
I had so much fun again at @dropzonefest even though I missed the first couple of days (probably what saved me). No one but @mrothacker16 even knew I was coming this year so it was fun surprising everyone even though most of y’all were dead when I finally got there 😂. That being said… no one let me go back to Croatia for another couple of years 💀

(((I WILL catch up on summer fest posts before I leave again for NL next week 🤡)))

After the nightmare that was dropzone b2b ultra Europe 2024, you would think that we would never attempt to go directly to another event from novalja again. However, some of us can't pass up an opportunity for a potentially traumatizing journey. So, after weeks of being impressed by the lineup, Vic and I decided that we needed to go to So W'Happy. In the tiny town of Rongy, Belgium right on the French border dreams came true. We got GPF mainstage, we got Retard Mental technobus, we got the second un retirement of the prophet, we got RTC redemption, we got Ipa's in water bottles, we got mister tractor, we got CHYNA. We may not have found salvation, but we found something much better, we found Michael. It was ridiculous, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

We will whap again one day. ✊🫪

Dropzone 3: Revenge of the Drip 🫠

In my first Croatia post a few years ago I believe my exact words were "I will never forgive them for what they've done to me." Well, I've completed the Drop Zone trilogy, I've ruminated over this for a few weeks now, and I've decided that I forgive Croatia. And forgiveness is exactly what I would like to talk about today.

Forgiving is a bit of an intricate topic because there is no "one size fits all" solution, and many times it isn't a solution at all really. And I'm sure you've all had experiences where people did fucked up things, and you felt disappointed or betrayed. And you're taught to "forgive, but don't forget." But that just sounds like a recipe for resentment to me.

So what can be done to avoid the resentment? You can try to hold them accountable for positive change, but then what if they let you down some more, now you're extra resentful. I've had people talk to me about something like "accepting things as they are is the way to be happy." I think this is sort of a misconstrued understanding of a mixture of spiritual teachings. The Buddhists would actually say that the answer is equanimity, and that your peace shouldn't be dependent on the outcome of something outside your control. But, you can still put care into encouraging someone to do better in the future without negatively disrupting yourself.

I would actually go one step further and say you should be okay with disrupting yourself a bit if it could possibly make a positive difference for someone, even when it's difficult. I've been trying to put in my time with the people that I want to forgive, and it's been challenging at times, staying detached from the outcome doesn't exactly synergize with my worldview, but these people are part of what made me this way, and that's a good thing probably. There is no changing what happened, there is only ever going forward, so let's try out some second chances.

So back to Croatia, well I was sitting there eating my unseasoned food in Split once again, thinking about all the steps that lead me back there with everything I needed. And I was very grateful.

@defqon1 day festival, weekday warrior 😭 I’ll never get over what could’ve been and won’t know when the grieving ends. it will always be more than a festival — a place where we finally don’t feel alone listening to these funny noises, a feeling that can’t be replicated anywhere in this world. all the sacrifices made from the artists, stage hands, designers and everything we could’ve created… the relationships, the memories, and all we that we dreamed of. even if this moment was taken from us, we became closer than ever 🧡 #defqon1 #hardstyle #trauamabonding #generationalrally #inmymiffyera
