After 3 ½ years I finally finished drafting a manuscript that I was afraid to write. Writing the following essay for @avi_books for his 2026 Summer Blog Series made me hold myself accountable.

https://bit.ly/4g9Kmzf

With BIC (butt in chair), I devoted the entire months of June and July to completing the second half of the manuscript, wrapping it up during the same week that this essay was due.

I didn’t travel. I didn’t visit family. I didn’t watch movies. I didn’t even read for pleasure, only research.

Was it worth it?

Yes! Finishing a manuscript that had been scaring me for over three years felt GOOD!!!

Thank you, @avi_books and @vickipalmquist for the invitation to share a tiny piece of my writing journey with your audience. ❤️
