Sometimes, you just need good friends, great artists, and a reason to create something just for the sake of it. And that’s exactly what we did.

A couple of months ago, I had the privilege of bringing this project to life with an incredible group of creative friends. We wanted to make something that felt real, something where dance and movement became a form of art.

We met bright and early at Gibney Studios in Lower Manhattan, with just one hour to shoot.

While Eliza, Rosalie and Vega warmed up, David got all the gear ready while I just played around with the water gun to get the look I had in my head.

Once we stepped into the studio, Vicky took the lead on movement direction, exploring each dancer’s unique skills and the emotions they wanted to express.

What followed was a beautiful exchange of ideas, movement, and heart. We experimented, played, and trusted the process.

And honestly, I think the final result speaks for itself.

Thank you Everyone!

When I first came up with this idea, I wanted to create something that allowed me to explore movement, fashion, and visual art in a way I hadn’t really done before. I wanted to come up with pictures that came to life through movement! What we ended up creating is so much more than what I originally imagined, and that’s because of each one of the incredible artists I was able to collaborate with. I remember that day with a lot of joy and that for me is what makes this so great.

The project was originally imagined as three movement pieces exploring different states of how we exist and interact within eachother:

CALMA — Harmony
A space where everything appears to work perfectly together. Every movement is intentional, every decision is calculated, and there is a certain control within the harmony. Yet there’s something off, something’s not working but we don’t know what it is.

DESARMONÍA — Disharmony
Something shifts. The structure begins to break, the movements start to ā€œglitch,ā€ and the collective no longer moves as one. There’s confusion, resistance, curiosity, and the beginning of something new.

CAOS — Chaos
Everything that has been contained finally comes out. Individual feelings, ideas, identities, and perspectives begin to surface. There is no longer a need for everything to move together. There is rage — at ourselves for not seeing it sooner, and at one another as we begin to question, confront, and place blame. Everything becomes exposed, raw, and impossible to control. And somehow, after everything has been expressed, we find our way back to calma.

The cycle begins again.

Making this project brought me so much joy yet internal challenge, as sometime we doubt in ourselves more than we intend to. But here it is! Thank you to every single person that shared the art, love and time to make this possible.

I wanted to conclude the journey i’ve had in nyc with dance and joy together with (some of!! there are so many more🄲) the people who have taught and guided me into a person i love to be. This is a love letter to my people, who keep rooting for me every step of the way- no matter how small. It is truly unique to not only have a friend group, but a whole network of people who genuinely want to see you succeed. To everyone i crossed paths with for the past year, thank you!🫶

The love you put into your life is the love that you receive back.
