🍂 That’s a wrap on King Lear! 👑

Congratulations to our remarkable cast and crew, and a special thank you to our production team, whose hard work behind the scenes makes everything possible. Many of our members contribute skills both on and off stage, supporting one another across productions. We see you, we appreciate you and we’re so proud of our supportive theatre community! ❤️

👏 To our cast, thank you for your commitment and creative dedication throughout rehearsals. You brought Shakespeare’s tragedy to life with performances full of dynanism.

We were delighted by our Daily Info Oxford review and lovely audience feedback, including: “Lear was wonderful. Well done everyone. The moments of pathos were very powerful…”

And, of course, thank you to everyone who came along to support us. Community theatre happens alongside day jobs and everyday commitments, all for the love of theatre. Your support makes it worthwhile!

🕯️ Next up: Blood and Ice by Liz Lochhead at the @artsattheofs, Oxford, 20th-25th October. Discover the extraordinary story of Mary Shelley and the creation of Frankenstein in this compelling autumn production.

✨ Looking further ahead, our Oxford Playhouse production arrives in May 2027, with a launch event on Sunday 1st November and audition details coming soon (open to all). We also have an improvisation workshop and Christmas social for OTG members planned for Sunday 6th December.

Want to get involved? As Oxford’s largest and longest-running community theatre society, we’re always welcoming new members, on stage and behind the scenes. Email membership@oxfordtheatreguild.com to find out more.

$I hope you've been taking good care in this hot weather! I've been working in Oxford this week and got back to perform a weekend of shows in the heat of Hampton Court. It was so wonderful to have my family there yesterday and for an epic picnic after. Plus some lovely down time with my company playing a new board game and eating icecream 🍨 I also wanted to reflect on some lovely days getting to see friends in incredible work they're making. I think I've spent every day this week in a theatre. It's been amazing to see how buzzy and thriving the Oxford scene is now. Exciting programming, new work, brilliant makers. A real step up from when I was a student there 20 years ago! 🏃‍♀️Running Commentary is a stunning one-person show blending running, poetry and so much heart. Do go and see it. And I'm very excited to be joining P on their directorial team for a new project coming soon, watch this space! 🧱 Within These Walls marks 200 years of the Warneford. Beautiful, brave site-specific work that I felt so lucky to catch. Gorgeous work from Amy Enticknap, Anna Tolput and the whole company. 🍖 All of Them Dead has beautifully shot projections, brilliant music, and writing that is original and genuinely hilarious. The perfect start to Pride weekend, and Chat's Palace was such a fabulous venue. My heart is very full and I feel so inspired seeing such wonderful, brave new work. Please do catch these shows, take more chances with indie makers and support your local venues. Tickets are a fraction of the West End, and you may just have some brilliant conversations in the bar after! 😊 And this is me with the wonderful Abi, a brilliant actor and writer who has just finished a new play. Cannot wait to see it! 🎭$
