International SALOON Meeting during the preview days of Manifesta 16 Ruhr✨

Despite the extreme heat—and with several pre-openings already behind us—we gathered on Sunday for a guided tour with Manifesta curator Leonie Herweg, who co-curated the two Essen churches, St. Gertrud and St. Marien, together with René Block.

Leonie gave us wonderful insights into the exhibition and the featured works, including pieces by Ayşe Erkmen and Donya Nasseri. Thank you, dear Leonie, for taking so much time with us and for the inspiring and in-depth conversation about Manifesta and its vision.

After the tour, we cooled down and recharged at Capobianco, the lovely Italian restaurant just around the corner, before spontaneously heading to St. Marien to experience Mira Mann's sound performance.

It was a truly wonderful day, and we were delighted to meet and connect with inspiring colleagues from other SALOON chapters. Thank you all for making it so special!

How many social media channels do you actually need to be successful as a solo entrepreneur? 🤯

📱 Instagram?
💼 LinkedIn?
📩 A newsletter?
Or everything at once?

Too many platforms.
Too many opinions.
Too much pressure.

As co-founder of Smart Coop Germany, I see every day how quickly people can get lost in the digital jungle 🌿

That’s why I’m excited that Viktoria Hilsberg is hosting a free online workshop with us to bring clarity and focus to your online presence.

✨ Want less stress and a clearer strategy?

Thanks for including me in the Tools of Trust pavilion at the 6th edition of @thewrong.biennale 2o23/24. Curated by @vicpluto !

Reposted from the website: Trust takes all kinds of forms. Trust is everywhere. We all have tools to embark our trust in our personal niche. This multidisciplinary exhibition narrates through histories of migration, individual metaphors and symbolism, connects lust and cult. Artworks and artists were selected in an open call process, combined with a pre-selection of artistic positions. Not the background of the artists, but the discourse of trust in the individual works decided upon their inclusion.

I’m happy to announce that my work TRUST is screening during the opening of the @leipzigerkulturmesse as a part of an exhibit TOOLS OF TRUST curated by amazing @vicpluto in context of @thewrong.biennale.

Many thanks to the strong beautiful women who contributed to the project – most of all to @olena_voitsitska, @bohos_vi_phototherapy and @vicpluto

TRUST, one-channel video loop, sound. Neon-colored notes form a mandala, each holding personal info and travel details of 140 women & children who journeyed to Denmark in March 2022. Sound includes text exchanges with Olena from Zhytomir, who, along with her two children, embarked on a journey, to Zealand, Denmark. The backdrop against which these journeys unfolded is the collective effort by a vast network of volunteers spanning various countries, meticulously coordinated through Facebook groups. The work invites viewers to reflect on the strength of trust as a guiding force in the face of adversity, demonstrating how belief in the reliability and truth of others can lead to extraordinary outcome.
