When filming, it is easy for creatives to focus almost entirely on visuals. Despite this, there is a constant need for quiet on set. This is because audio is just as, if not more important for a film or TV episode. Audio on its own can be just as successful in storytelling and communication through podcasts and radio. At @ithacacollege , students are gaining hands-on experience in learning audio both in class and in extracurriculars, while professors continue to evolve opportunities offered. Ithaca College Television (ICTV) and Voice of Ithaca College (VIC) Radio’s studios share the same on-campus address in the Roy H. Park Hall basement, the same student media advisor, and even some of the same passionately driven students. Though they share the same resources, it was not until March 24 that the two organizations joined creative forces in one of the television studios to shoot “In The Stu,” a new monthly segment that will be featured on both ICTV and VIC’s YouTube channels.
