Sotheby’s opening of Marcel within its auction house in April stirred waves of excitement online. Dining surrounded by fine art and collectibles? It turns out the venn diagram between people who love restaurants and people who love art is nearly a circle.
As hospitality becomes increasingly design-driven, collaborations between restaurateurs, designers, and art advisors are shaping spaces that are as compelling visually as they are culinarily. Here are 10 spots where the art deserves as much attention as what’s on the plate or in the glass.

I’ve always loved the St. Lawrence neighbourhood, the architecture reminds me of New York, and these two openings are bringing some new energy to the area.
Step inside Eloise, and you’re in a beautifully composed dining room. The artwork by @vicsequeira was such a highlight, and the interior feels dainty with a Parisian softness. Every detail is intentional: the carved wooden booths, the upholstery, the delicate tulle chandeliers, even the discreet wheels on the chairs so you can slide in effortlessly. @_westgrove really created something special here.

Keep the night going and through the curtain is Bar Cart, Eloise’s moody speakeasy counterpart. The space is drenched in crimson, intimate, atmospheric, and perfect for a pre or post-dinner drink. Early evenings mean lots of open tables before the weekend crowds roll in and the waitlist starts. We loved the Meringue-a-Tang, since the drinks lean spirit-forward, I’d probably go for a classic next time.

Two spots, one stop, and a perfect way to spend a winter night in St. Lawrence.
