THREE GOATS. ONE HISTORIC CAMP. 🐐🇦🇺🔥
What an incredible 3 days at the TA Spring Camp! 🙌🏼 The biggest camp in Australian history, learning from three of the greatest to ever do it — Professor’s @thalisonvsoares, @tainandalpra and @marcelogarciajiujitsu! 🤩

Feeling very grateful to have spent the last few days learning from some of my favourite black belt world champions. So much knowledge, detail, and experience shared on the mats with plenty to take away and keep working on as I continue to grow as a competitor🙏🏼

So happy to see Professor Tainan again and finally meet and learn from the legendary Marcelo for the first time! Learning from the best rooster weight and two of the greatest middleweights in history was truly special❤️‍🔥

Huge thank you to Professor Thalison or bringing these legends together and making this camp possible, and to all three for sharing your knowledge, techniques and experience with us. Already looking forward to the next one! OSS!

What a weekend in Byron Bay.

People from different academies and different teams, all training together. The level was high, with lots of black belts in the room.

But what stayed with us was the feeling of community. It's beautiful to see jiu-jitsu growing in Australia like this, with people coming together.

Mat+ was there all weekend, talking with coaches, students and academy owners. Thank you to everyone who came by to chat.

And we also got the coaches together for something special. More on that soon.

Finally, the cave season is over 😂

It was quite challenging, in all areas of life.

Coincidentally, with my birthday, a cycle is ending with few losses and I'm coming out more resilient.

I'm very grateful for each day, each advance, each small achievement, and specially each person who still around me.

Let's go to the next stage 🌱

3 days of shooting, hours of editing, and hundreds of photos and videos later.

Thank you to all of my new and existing clients for continuing to trust and support what I do. I love being able to create with you and tell your stories.

And as the sport grows, we all grow with it. More opportunities, more stories, more people doing what they love.

Every Nationals is a milestone in our journey.

For me, it’s more than just looking at the results. It’s a moment to step back, reflect, and evaluate the direction I’m taking the team.

Year after year, we continue to display a high level of Jiu-Jitsu across every level. As a coach and leader, my biggest challenge is keeping this team united, motivated, disciplined, and hungry to keep improving.

We are still a very young school, but the quality of our work is undeniable. The results, the way our athletes perform, and most importantly, the unity within our team are a reflection of what we have been building together.

I also believe that leadership starts from the front line. I carry the responsibility of setting the standard, not just with words, but through my own actions. If I expect my students to be disciplined, committed, courageous, and hungry to improve, then I have to demonstrate those qualities myself.

I carry an even bigger responsibility knowing that I’m helping shape the next generation. I want them to see what it means to lead, to work hard, to stay humble, and to never stop pushing forward. And I believe the best way to show them the way is to lead from the front.

Now it’s time to go back, evaluate everything, identify what needs to change, and make the adjustments necessary to keep moving forward.

My job as a leader is to make sure I keep taking this entire team in the right direction.

We celebrate the results, but we don’t stop here.

Back to work.

🇦🇺 5x AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL CHAMPION 🥇

This weekend I competed at the 2026 Australian National Championship, competing in both the Medium-Heavy Gi and Medium-Heavy Nogi divisions. I had 7 matches in total, finishing with 6 submissions and one 16-0 points victory.

I’m extremely happy with my performance throughout this competition. I was able to chain together different ideas and approaches I’ve been working on in training, stay active with my game and adapt well under pressure.

I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s supported me throughout all my matches. My coaches and teammates from @theacademybyronbay, my family and friends - thank you for always being there, supporting me and helping me prepare for moments like these 🙌🏼❤️ Also, a special thank you to my cousin Tia for coming on Friday to support me, it was great to see you again.
