This year was filled with trials, triumphs, firsts, continuance, endings, wonder, hope, sadness, and joy.
Firsts… Starting the year with Sia, our first international trip together. Thailand is beautiful, even though we took a surprise trip to two hospitals; accidents happen… Including getting hit head on by a truck back in the U.S. . Firsts… first totaled car. Firsts… Saying goodbye to my Grandfather. The only grandparent I knew in my adulthood, and simply put, an amazing person all around. In death there is beauty. You can see someone by their influence on others. Death can bring together so many, and is a testament to how you lived. Firsts… First trip to NCECA! And oh my gosh, mind blowing, eye opening, perspective enhancing trip. Airbnb shared with 15 people, Salt Lake City, Drag Show, enough said. Firsts… Getting ordained and marrying my best friends. Seeing relationships grow. Friendships turn into deeper bonds. Friends, I count myself very lucky to have such deep friendships. A blessing to say the least. Effort full, but seemingly effortless. Watching friends bloom into amazing people. Finding their way. Much of the time TRAILBLAZING, setting examples for me to follow, or draw inspiration from. I have had the pleasure of diving deep into my second job. Working at Palomar College in the Art Department has been an amazing opportunity to learn and grow. Surrounded by the arts and by a shared love for growth and creation. Of course how could I ignore my undying passion for the arts. Yes I’ve still been grinding and creating. I have made great progress in my ceramics journey. Ending the year with some great visits with family. Celebrations, convergence, catching up, enjoying. To a new year, opportunity, growth, friendship, love, and the unknown.

Last week and weekend were super busy with fun last-minute celebrations! I am So grateful for @vidaconlily and her trust in me to add a little sparkle to her one-year old's first birthday celebration! I had so much fun!

(Side note: the gritty/powdery look on the cookies is actually super fine edible lustre dust! I just haven't figured out a way to actually make it sparkle in photos and not look like dust!!)
