Introducing Upstairs 3.0. ✨

Say hello to the latest evolution of @rest_upstairs by @cheftomshepherd.

Having worked alongside Tom for several years, this project marks the next chapter in a journey of continual refinement, growth, and ambition.

Designed to reflect the restaurant's Michelin Star success, this concept embraces light, luminosity, and craftsmanship.

This latest iteration replaces a darker grey palette with fresh tones of fromage, sage, linen white, basil, and butter yellow, creating a lighter, brighter atmosphere throughout.

The reception area has been completely refreshed with a quartz-topped welcome desk, illuminated drapery, and a striking staircase light feature that immediately sets the tone on arrival.

Within the restaurant, new banquette seating, elegant wall panelling, stone planter features, and a showstopping champagne station with a suspended foliage installation bring a renewed sense of energy to the dining experience.

Tom is a prime example of a treasured client, and one we've had the pleasure of collaborating with as Upstairs has gone from strength to strength.

1996 ELIO ALTARE BAROLO 🍇

Elio Altare is a renowned winery located in the heart of Piedmont, Italy. The winery was founded in the 1940s by Elio's father, Giovanni Altare, but it wasn't until the 1970s that Elio himself took over and began to revolutionise winemaking in the region.

Elio Altare was known for his innovative approach to winemaking, which involved reducing yields, using small oak barrels for aging, and experimenting with new techniques to enhance the quality and complexity of his wines. His wines quickly gained recognition for their exceptional quality and unique character, and today, Elio Altare is considered one of the most influential winemakers in Piedmont.

The winery is still family-owned and operated, with Elio's daughter, Silvia, now at the helm. Silvia has continued her father's legacy of excellence, using sustainable and organic farming practices to produce wines that are true to their terroir and the traditions of the region.

The Elio Altare Barolo is the flagship wine of the winery, and it has become a benchmark for Barolo lovers around the world. With its exceptional quality and attention to detail, it's no wonder why the Elio Altare winery is considered one of the top producers in Piedmont.
