A morte é temporária, o amor é eterno.

Thank you @divagalsdaily for such a beautiful review of APART! 🦓❤️🦓

Caroline Cao dove into the story of Themba and Joel, two friends whose bond is tested by apartheid. APART is a tale told by human hands and hearts, through the vibrant mix of 2D and 3D animation.

🎨 THE ART OF APART: PROPS

Every week, we’re sharing a glimpse of the craft and human hands behind APART. This time, it’s all about the props.

From cars to teacups, posters to proteas: even the smallest things were designed with care, because authenticity lives in the littlest details.

Early visual explorations for @apartanimatedshort I tried to think about character design as little as possible and just focus on what style would be best suited to tell the story we wanted to tell.

APART digs into the history of apartheid at a moment when that story matters more than ever. It was always intended to be more than a short film. It’s a conversation starter, and a classroom tool.
