POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Every Wednesday, the ugly hug shares a playlist personally curated by an artist/band that we have been enjoying.

This week we have a collection of songs put together by Dallas-based artist Tex Patrello.

Last year, Patrello shared her debut LP 'Minotaur', accumulating characters, thematic squirmings, suggestive imagery and the sheer magnitude of interpretations that make for a project of grand proportions.

Head to the link in the bio to listen to Patrello's playlist and read more about her work.

"...I don’t know what it’s gonna sound like at all, but this next record is just not gonna be even close to Crabwalk..."

Last week, Plastic released their debut LP, Crabwalk, redefining the New York band with a precise and expansive mindset of five distinct voices.

We recently sat down with Plastic to discuss their astounding new record, as well as what they have in store next.

Head to the link in the bio to read the new feature interview!

@radioromi ‘Edges’ RECORD RELEASE SHOW IN BROOKLYN, AUG 27!

For most of my life, I’ve felt like timing hasn’t been on my side.
So here I am, world, announcing my album release show less than 2 weeks before the event!

But I’ll tell you what -
The people playing with me are not only some of the best people I know, but they are also empirically, extraordinarily talented.
The two other acts on the bill are some of the most exciting, interesting and unique artists I’ve had the pleasure to encounter.
The venue is the first venue in NYC that made me feel like home when I moved here almost 8 years ago.
The date is 4 days before my 30th birthday.
And I know, with my whole being, that everyone who needs to be at this show - will be there. And we’re gonna have a fantastic night.

To ensure that, make haste and get your tickets now. The link is in my bio. Cannot wait to share the magic with you all.

@tuneyards ICYMI - NEW REMIX OUT NOW: Water From Your Fountain (Water From Your Eyes Remix) 💦 Listen now at the link in bio. * When we asked WFYE to remix WF I wrote, “I hope they destroy the original and break it into a million pieces” which I’m so grateful they did. Here’s to music reflecting the times and to collaboration across the planet.

@actually_preston_spurlock This show is going to totally win. I’m doing my bass-related thing in @thejohnsnyc, and we’ll be sharing the night with Double Deuce (who are releasing a new record that night!), Joe Jack Talcum (of The Dead Milkmen!) and Girls Can’t Skate! One week from today, Friday August 2nd, thanks to Footlight Presents and The Windjammer for having us. @therealdoubledeuce @thejohnsnyc @joe.genaro @girlscantskateband @footlightpresents @thewindjammer
