Telling stories around a fire is a timeless human tradition. Telling spooky stories around a fire equally so, and our audiences agree that The Monkey's Paw is a story that certainly works well by the warm glow of a fire. "This story so perfectly suits a fireside telling with the ever-stoked fire acting as the family hearth. The shadows at its age grow larger and scarier in the ever-deepeninf darkness" -Audience Member The Monkey's Paw shows every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening at 9:00pm until August 15. The Monkey's Paw sets a very different vibe from our mainstage show, The Wind Coming Over the Sea — and this comment we received from a recent audience member sums up the contrast between the two quite nicely: "The Monkey's Paw goes off like a rocket from its very opening scene [...] The actors are excellent at moving from a contented domesticity towards shock and horror" As the sky darkens around us each evening, so do the events of the play, making it a perfect showcase of why our By Fire series works so well! Catch The Monkey's Paw at 9pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays until August 15 Photo: Sam Vigneault and Hugh Ritchie in The Monkey's Paw. Costumes by Diego Cavedon-Dias. The first week and a half of rehearsals has brought a flurry of activity to Ross Creek as our cast and crew work on "The Wind Coming Over The Sea" by Emma Donoghue and "The Monkey's Paw" by Ken Schwartz. They've worked through music, dialects, fight choreography, blocking, and, of course, scene work. We have one month until we open both shows on June 27, so there's lots more work to do! Make sure you grab your tickets (there are also previews if you simply can't wait!)
